Agree with your ins and outs but what’s your thinking in suggesting playing Frampton forward, instead of Howe?

To my eye, Frampton has shown nothing as a forward but is a genuinely good defender. Howe on the other hand has proven himself as a forward previously and is actually looking less effective as a defender this season. So I’d go Howe forward, Frampton back.

Agree Howe is a much better forward than Frampton, but I think we're better served Kreuger playing permanent forward and Frampton 2nd ruck, so having Frampton do that from the forward line makes makes more sense than disrupting the backline every time he goes in.

Now it gets exciting.

Mason had been ranked in bottom 5 players on the ground for each of the past 5 weeks (and that includes injured and subbed players). If not for injury, he'd have to be getting dropped soon as he's having next to no impact.

We can bring in another mid to help with rotations to ensure we have our best mids in the middle when Cameron needs a rest.

And with resting Cameron up forward, I think we'll see him become a more effective forward than Mason.

Hopefully this is the transition to a 1 ruck Collingwood.
After several years you'd think you would get it by now... but clearly you still don't.

Cox is not on the field to rack up possessions or dominate the marking contests.

He's there because he draws defenders. The opposition crap their pants when he's in the vicinity even because of his size.

Under Buckley and now McCrae, and even winning a premiership. Cox is there for hit outs and draw defenders to him during a contest. In turn, his team mates have that extra second to the ball.

He is vital to the structure and game plan... which again, has yielded a premiership.

Other than simply being difficult to out mark, Coxy has lost all confidence in his contested marking and needs a reset.
Some Pies fans still don't get why Cox is best 22. Sure, if he's fitness is not up for it, he goes to the VFL but if he's fit he is a key player... not because of his skills... but his size and the fact that he can jump a bit.

Pies gameplan relies on a really tall player who can move to forward and draw defenders away from the crumbers and mid size forwards.

Finally, someone states the actual case for Cox, AND why he gets picked each week. Each player has a role. If they succeed in that role they stay, else they get dropped. Coxy has being doing the role as requested by coaches obviously

So it's the coaches that assess players and pick the team - ah .. thanks for confirming - sometimes wondered about that 👍

And more....... for a long time.

This is correct, however, the conservative approach is usually that a player misses 21 days or 3 straight games of football and return in the 4th week. This didn't happen with BM, he played on the 21st day and is now likely to miss 3 or 4 weeks. We took a chance and it paid off because he pretty much helped us avoid a loss but it was always a risk.
It didn't pay off. We lost him along with numerous others and may lose several games rather than just one. And who's to say that Kreuger mightn't have done as well on the day? Mihochek was brought back too early and we have paid a heavy penalty. If Davoren or whatever his name was was still in charge of fitness, we'd have a whole thread of posts getting stuck in to him over our current injury situation, but the new fitness mob seem to be Teflon coated and manage to avoid any criticism whatsoever.

Mihocek was brought back after 21 days. He passed all fitness tests by professional medical staff. Seriously, your diatribes show you have NFI, simple as that.

I agree completely but I was trying to be civil as the abuse would've been horrendous for a year 10 graduate who had to repeat year 10 and was given a pass just to get me to leave the school

My opinion is based on information and comments supplied by others. You seem to enjoy having personal digs at me and my views. At the risk which I am more than willing to take of being suspended, why don't you just f@ck off.

I thought he was bought in on the 21st day. The conservative approach for the last 50 years is that they miss 3 weeks of football and they play in the 4th week. It was great for us because he pretty much saved us from being beaten. I can understand us taking the chance but there is always a risk playing a guy on the 21st day as evidenced by him re injuring the hammy. It's not worth arguing over because we took a risk and that's fine

See this thread to explain the Time Sniper mystery🫣

This is all you ever need to understand Time Sniper.

Based on "starting 23" players I'm pretty sure we still have them covered and then some

In terms of "best", I"m not even sure really picking our "best" in the way we play and are structured is even very straigthforward?

Would most people have Nathan Murphy as one of our best 5 players? Let's be real, probably not. But it turns out he's definitely Top 5 most important players to us in how we structure up.

Sorry, but we are missing 8 now, first choice players this week. McStay, Elliott, Degoey, Cox, Mitchell, Richards, WHE and Mihocek as well the devastating loss of Murphy who only got cut from our list a few weeks ago. Plenty of excuses. But we keep fighting and scrapping.
