Bet you would have smashed the Year 9s in British Bulldog
Now there's a memory I had repressed - along with being punched on the arm where TB needle had just been jabbed, cold showers after playing football away against Assumption College - (I often wondered why they needed so many Brothers on duty in the shower area...)

I thought he was bought in on the 21st day. The conservative approach for the last 50 years is that they miss 3 weeks of football and they play in the 4th week. It was great for us because he pretty much saved us from being beaten. I can understand us taking the chance but there is always a risk playing a guy on the 21st day as evidenced by him re injuring the hammy. It's not worth arguing over because we took a risk and that's fine

Missing 2 matches and returning after 21 days for a bog standard hamstring strain has been the norm for the decades I've been following football.

It's only more if it's assessed as a higher grade tear or a player has a history in this area.

I'll be surprised if Mihocek isn't sidelined this time for longer because he now has a recent history but it was entirely reasonable for him to return last week and one player doing one hamstring after 21 days is not a precedent.

Well, he did it again so maybe it was a risk all along. If he was available this week then I would have to agree with you

You were AGS?

After several years you'd think you would get it by now... but clearly you still don't.

Cox is not on the field to rack up possessions or dominate the marking contests.

He's there because he draws defenders. The opposition crap their pants when he's in the vicinity even because of his size.

Under Buckley and now McCrae, and even winning a premiership. Cox is there for hit outs and draw defenders to him during a contest. In turn, his team mates have that extra second to the ball.

He is vital to the structure and game plan... which again, has yielded a premiership.
This is perfectly explained!
Cox is about structure. Pure and simple. We drew that game last week because Cox went down. That disrupted our back line that lost Frampton.
I’m not sure Freo could have pegged back 25 points if he was still back there.
We also may have scored an extra goal if Cox was resting forward.
He’s been so important in ways that statistics won’t show.

Personally I see a case for all of Howe, McInnes and Kreuger up forward as we're now without our 2 best tall forwards as well as our tallest marking option. In reality Howe and McInnes aren't genuine KPP anyway and we did enter the WC game with those two up forward plus Cox so the 3 talls have been trialled.

Reef actually sits 4th on our goal kicking list so I hope he gets up as we're already without No.1 and 3.

It didn't pay off. We lost him along with numerous others and may lose several games rather than just one. And who's to say that Kreuger mightn't have done as well on the day? Mihochek was brought back too early and we have paid a heavy penalty. If Davoren or whatever his name was was still in charge of fitness, we'd have a whole thread of posts getting stuck in to him over our current injury situation, but the new fitness mob seem to be Teflon coated and manage to avoid any criticism whatsoever.
Come on TGG - our new regime has proved themselves over and over.
They definitely have credits in the bank.
Bagging them is completely unfair given they followed the established protocols.
It’s just Bad luck - nothing more nothing less.
BUT certainly NOT incompetence.

I think reef has been ruled out so maybe AJ could come in

I don't know what all the drama is about. We took a risk because we were depleted. It almost worked but for the last 10 minutes of the game. There was nothing wrong with taking a risk but the fact that he's re injured it just says that we might have did things differently. There's no blame for anyone, it was just a necessity

After last night's shock injury report I was a bit hesitant but after a good sleep, I am now very confident we'll win
“ it’s Amazing what a little snooze 😴 can do “ lol 😝

I wasn’t confident last week & with more injuries even more so But on current form since rnd three, it’s either Win or Draw lol , so hopefully your confidence gets us over the line 👍

That’s some revisionist rubbish right there Kes. At best you could say he was part of a critical mass of injuries occurring at around the same time, but to suggest losing him is the reason we drew is a long bow.

I’d suggest losing one of the best players on the ground in Mihocek was a hundred times more impactful considering Cox was vying for worst player on the ground at the time of his injury. He’s played poorly for at least a month now.

Team selection this week…
