Gave it a shot and we should be happy with that, but there has been a few of those now and that could very quickly turn to disappointment. Need a win

The defensive pressure of our small forwards has been really disappointing - today they strolled out.

I’m actually feeling pretty flat about today.

Enjoy the break boys and hopefully they come back and win a few to finish the season off

Thought we were really good, few poor patches and an undermanned side.

Genuine chance to pip the Dogs after the bye, a good week off and get the boys back after the bye.

Jaeger was great, Titch good, Duke solid and we competed well in there, Nash solid.

Reeves pretty good.

Sicily was great once again, Morrison worked hard all day and Moore was class.

Needed more from Callow.

Kicking 82 points against Freo in Perth without our two best marking forwards is a good effort.

Loved the whole game but honestly the disappointment hit when Brayshaw kicked that goal

So much to like:
  • Newcombe is just the best player to watch.
  • CJ and Scrimshaws defensive skill is phenomenal to watch
  • Mitchell needs to stick to the contested game and let others do the uncontested work
  • Moore in the forward line is much better for us.
  • O'Meara's best game for the year?
  • Sicily continues to be the man.
  • Reeves is awesome.

Other thoughts
  • Our forwardlin could not keep it in. Prob more due to entries and kicking to contests in bad spots where we are outnumbered.
  • The senior players carried us today. Sicily, O'Mear, Mitchell, Wingard. Usually they play side roles.
  • Tackling pressure was incredible - especailly in that first half. Mitchell has this team playing with the right spirit. Awesome to watch.

Fly them back Business Class, I think they’ve earned it.
No.
We don't want to become north Melbourne or stkilda that reward losing.

It was a good effort when it looked like freo were going to run right over the top.

Turning point was some basic misses combined with Butler trying to be Hollywood for the second game in a row

Not a fan of what tom Mitchell is bringing. He's trying to play a new role, but he's too one dimensional, and it's hurting chains of possession.

Callow is growing, but he is Years away from being a decent footballer

Week off, regroup, move on, and keep developing

The trend will probably keep following for the rest of the year, we will keep pushing the top 8 teams and pip one every once in a while.

Got a very winnable month of footy coming up with the Dogs, Giants, Crows and Eagles. Would love to get 3 of these in the W column, keeping the confidence up within the group

Great game, 3 missed directly in front of the goal probably cost the game.

Not yet there, still lacking consistency, but it's building. So happy that the boys playing really well against contenders.

Really enjoying Buckley as commentator, hopefully we're getting more of him for our games.

Showed heart! Poor execution!
We battled hard and brought our A game, just couldn't take our chances to do enough damage!

Missing some fwd targets and skill thru the middle ( breaks a pack hits a target). I Would love a quick on baller, gut running Wingman. We played one tall target short around the ground, Callow was unsighted.

The side really missed these 3 boys today.Lewis, Gunners, BigBoy.

Felt that that was Morrison's best game for the year.
Was always in the right spots, neat use and great defensive pressure.

Acres gave him a bath in the 3rd. 11 touches in first 10 mins, leading metres gained on the ground and kicked a goal on him at stoppage. I reckon he’s had better days tbh.

Hartigan seriously needs to keep his feet more went to ground on 4 or more occasions that left everyone else helpless.

Effort was really good though, feel like we were 2 key position players from winning that. DGB/Lewis gets us over the line in that. How good is Brayshaw though. Gave our mids an absolute lesson in workrate.

Nash was huge.

But the fact he and Callow look like they had no idea what they were doing from 20-30 out straight in front is unacceptable from proffessional footballers.
I feel that Nash did soooo many good things - it outweighs that shocker.
But yeah - they should be able to nail that.

Played with great intent for most of the game which was quite impressive against one of the best sides at home. Found we are severely lacking outside pace - had nothing to create run apart from Cj. Had plenty of chances in the last but Mitchell, Shiels, Hartigan burnt prime opportunities with trademark poor disposal at critical moments on multiple occasions moving forward. Great effort though.

Sick of us getting flogged at clearances, you think there would some improvement in that area over the season, The reason we aren’t getting it done in games where we have had chances of winning, also sick of honourable losses, they can only can go so far

I reckon if you watch his defensive positioning, ball use and direction across the whole game it makes up for a Purple patch.
