Great news for the young(ish) fella and I hope he goes well but it does seem a strange selection. I don't think one game with Beagles playing with a leg rope to the goal post is going to immediately translate to our senior team.

Unless of course (and here comes my cynical nature) the club are buttering us up with a feelgood story just before selection night tomorrow when they drop the news that Waterman is in for surgery. That'd never happen would it? It has Gary Stocks written all over it.

There was footage on one of the news channels of Waterman training today in what looked like match sim admittedly with his shoulder strapped

Would seem an odd choice if they were planning on sending him in for shoulder surgery

It'll be Trew into the squad for Kelly, Culley into the squad for Reid and probably Hutch for JWil, with Waterman not getting up. If Waterman does get up, then he replaced JWil.

We have a mystery injury and that's who Hutch is in for, or he replaced Maric.

As for Sub? Who knows, hopefully Gaff but I doubt it.

Ok point taken. That indeed sounds more promising but I'm still not convinced we'd be rushing in a 1 game Beagle forward if we were really confident Waterman was fit for Saturday. Hopefully my fears are unfounded.

Changes could be as simple as Trew into the 22 for Reid with Hutchinson coming in as sub

If Waterman passes his fitness test he replaces J-Will

Obviously there’s other options but without knowing if there’s any other surprise injuries, Reid is the only forced change

• Rotham who missed due to illness potentially comes back in at the expense of Edwards although I thought Harry played well enough to keep his spot. Certainly no worse than Rotham had been playing
• Hutchinson could be coming in for Maric with someone else like Culley, Dewar, Hall or Johnston getting the sub vest
• Culley could leapfrog Trew into the 22
• Sheed could be a surprise omission but that’s doubtful. Gaff did enough to retain his spot imo

Waterman lining up and kicking a snag with a heavily strapped left shoulder from the club’s IG story today👆

Culley also in the background in the blue training guernsey. A hint to selection?

We could be limping to the bye this week.

Out: Maric, J Williams (rested omitt), Reid (sus), Ginbey (wrist?).

In: Waterman, Culley, Hall, Hutchinson.:$

Bench could be pretty raw this week. Strange if Trew doesn't get a full game.

Waterman (shoulder?)
Yeo?
Ginbey wrist?
Kelly hip unavailable

North should be smelling blood. Expect them to come out hard looking for a win here.

Was it just me or did anyone see Reuben Ginbey brandishing a wrist protection brace in that video?

Need a poll.
Did you see Ginbey wearing a brace in Clutches debut announcement video?
There was a debut announcement?
OMG did you see the brace on Ginbey?

Don’t think Hall is playing if they announce Hutch’s debut but not his.

On Waterman-Not fully across this yet so not gospel but his shoulder is strapped as if it is unstable. I suspect they will try and nurse him through until the end of the year but time stabilisation surgery so he’s ready for a full preseason if that’s what’s required.

Edit:

On Ginbey- it’s a soft brace, not a cast or TP splint so would not read too much into it at this stage. If it was something serious he’d be in something else.

The bits I saw of Trew last week he seems to be plodding around. Is the next step up a bridge too far for him ??
Culley is solid.Excellent mark and good vision.
It’s wet so Hutch will be well suited; mobile and plays in front. In those conditions id play him in front of JD.
Norf have a team of high draft mids. They will be running all day and that ultimately will probably be the difference esp if Gaff and Sheed both play. They will both be karking it by half time!

Maric and Trew in yellow guernseys.

Liam Ryan in yellow as well, so maybe not that much of a hint.

That’s true but I was just looking at that Waterman story. Baker and Burgiel in the background in yellow. Assume it was the “best” (blue) vs the “rest” (yellow).

You’re right though, Flyin’ in the yellow along Harley, Maric & Trew.

Ginbey has released a statement regarding his wrist brace:

"The reason for my wrist brace today was due to doctor's orders. The club had been provided with a medical certificate. I have been diagnosed as suffering from a work related injury and as a result I am on sick leave till further notice. I will not go into any details as to my medical condition as I wish to keep that strictly private. I am doing my best to work with the club and my doctors so I can recover from my injury. I intend to return back to training as soon as I am fit and able."

Huge if true.

I think Hall will be announced today
They usually do them separately.

We lost Kelly and Reid so someone will have to replace them.

Culley and Hall the ones that can play that role. Trew also didn't set the world on fire last week so he maybe making way aswell.

Gaff and Sheed both in is frustrating as both are slow plodders that kill our stoppages and defensive pressure. Makes it too easy for opposition mids but looks like we will get another lesson about that until Simmo wakes up. Doesn't improve us in the long term with them in but after both getting 20 cheap disposals they won't be getting dropped this week.

If it is wet then that often benefits players who lack pace. I loved playing in the wet. ;)

Problem is it doesn't suit talls and we seem to be picking a tall side ATM

Wardlaw will be BOG.
