Which is the bigger curse/tempatation?
1) Placing a bet on the Saints. (and forgoing the nice loaf of bread and coffee you promised yourself next week)?
2) Placing a bet on the Suns. (and forgoing the nice loaf of bread and coffee you promised yourself next week)?
3) Buying a bottle of nice red (or white, or a six pack of Coopers or VB or MB or (__)
4) Imagining and channeling 'the Cone of Silence' and completely forgetting there is a game this week?

History and experience would suggest starting with number three, finishing with number four.

If we're any chance we have to keep Owens as far away from the midfield as possible.

We're far better served with him wandering around a dysfunctional forward line barely touching it than having him in the centre being the contested beast he was meant to be.

So thankful that Robert Harvey is at the club to recognise his true talents. I think we all know, when Robert speaks... we all must listen... cause he was like... good at running and kicking and sh*t

Looking forward to watching the well drilled machine that is the current Lyon coached Saints.

If we don't win today it's completely the player's fault. I actually don't know why we bother with coaches to be honest. Clearly anything they do through the week has little to no influence on our performance. It's only when they make a change that works on game day that we can all yell "hooray!" and bask in their glory.

I'm sure Brendan Goddard will draw from his massive coaching experience to get our midfield firing. It's no wonder he beat out the massive line of candidates for the midfield coaching position.

2024. What a year to be a Saints fan.

Quoting afaiku's post from the preview thread since it's locked.

Look you might be right, but playing a kid who's clearly not ready is also embracing mediocrity to an extent. We already tried Byrnes and Hastie in the same role, and they both weren't up to it so why persist and reward their mediocrity? The disposal count for Ross' role is highly volatile - he could easily have 20 touches this week if the ball is stuck on his win

I think playing a 31 year old who is clearly cooked is embracing mediocrity far more than playing a kid who is building and will improve from the experience. Selecting Ross is being content with sustained, ongoing mediocrity.

Hastie is far from the finished product but he showed a bit. With that said, I'd prefer that we had selected Crouch over Ross and used Wood, Hill, Clark and Wilson as our wingers this week. Crouch still has genuine strengths at AFL level. Ross does not

I see that we are now favourites. Interesting.

The season is at a strange turning point where there is still this tiny glimmer of hope that we could get on a roll and make finals. A loss tonight will completely snuff that out.

We have to see Arie in the side at some stage. A bit of a waste having him as non playing emergency today. Maybe a late change?

We'll need Marshall to have a monster game to win.

On paper their midfield will destroy us. Big challenge.

Should be a shit off. Saints are terrible, Suns can't play away from Queensland. Could be one of those matches that all tapes should be erased. Real 4.12 to 5.7 type shit.

Any chance Shoey debuts today? I was looking forward to switching on the Zebra's at prime time 12.05pm and notice he is out of the side (AFL).

There's a game this week? I didn't realise the season was still going.

All 7 Gold Coast fans think they'll be in the top 4 after this weekend.

So 6 more that rock up to games than us, to be so lucky to have 8 people at Marvel tonight...

Unlikely I'd say, if he was a chance of debut they'd have released something.
