10 trades, $420k in bank. Playing solely for league, MUST win games coming up as I basically conceded the bye rounds.

B: McVeigh, Swallow, Burgoyne, Suckling, Grimes, Langdon (Langford, Georgiou)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, JSelwood, Beams, Rockliff, Swan, Stevie J, Shenton (Acres, Honeychurch)
R: Sandilands, Lobbe (Currie, King)
F: Martin, Dangerfield, Gray, Zorko, Higgins, McGovern (C.Cameron, S. LLoyd (Rich) )

Am thinking at this stage of Lloyd > SMartin; and Acres > Fyfe. No R/F link for SMartin, but maybe look at getting B.Brown in next week so can use SMartin as floating cover. This would give me the following team and uses up all my cash...but finishes my mids and gives me $hitloads better bench coverage.

B: McVeigh, Swallow, Burgoyne, Suckling, Grimes, Langdon (Langford, Georgiou)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, JSelwood, Beams, Rockliff, Swan, Stevie J, Fyfe (Shenton, Honeychurch)
R: Sandilands, Lobbe (Currie, King)
F: D. Martin, Dangerfield, Gray, Zorko, Higgins, McGovern (SMartin, C.Cameron)

Sound solid, or is there a better way to use my $420k bounty?? Much appreciated in advance.

7 Trades left with $800 Cash.

Trades for this week:

(1) P.Ambrose ($273,600) to J.McGovern ($213,200)
(2) B.Lennon ($183,600) to A.Miles ($246,000)

To good bench over on everyline except the backs which I can live with at the moment.

Very happy with my side.

Been sliding down the rankings the last couple of weeks to 319th this week.

This week I am thinking about Langdon and Langford becoming a premo defender (Hanley who seems to be back playing more midfield time) and a rookie (Jayden Hunt with dpp?)

The other option is trading Ambrose/Shenton or Cameron to Stefan Martin and using him a F6 until he peaks at which time ill trade to Gray/Boomer completing my side.

I read that Leunberger may be back within a couple of weeks? Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thoughts?

You need cutler to play
Langford to mr El cheapo
Michie out for stef martin.

If cutler is not selected its a whole different scenario

Herald Sun says 1-2 weeks. Will depend on what Brown decides about his future. If he retires Martin probably plays more forward and scores will drop. If he plays on, he might still score alright and play a bit in the ruck. I wouldn't think they would rush leuy back too quickly though but something is telling me to stay away from Stef..

I have a bad feeling Beams will miss again. In that scenario you would cop a donut in the mids again. Might want to consider Michie > Martin (move Shenton to M9) & Martin to F6 Downgrade Cutler to Hunt or CC to Honeychurch for DP link to finance the 1st trade...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. A lot will depend on selection (Cutler, Langford, Beams, Cameron) playing, but I like the idea of finally getting some cover in the mids with Shenton and at this stage having Martin as F6.

If I go cold on Martin I will look to upgrade Langdon

In everyone's opinion, what is a better move:
Higgins - Martin
Higgins - miles (via shenton)
Leaning towards miles as I don't have a ruck/forward, but was hoping to keep shentons m/f in the midfield
Any suggestions are appreciated

I like Gingys suggestion if Beams is a late out.

Michie>Honeychurch
Cameron>Stefan

Later Str8 swap Langdon>Mitchell

------

If either Langford or Cutler are named & you can loophole them for a few weeks...my left field aggressive trade would be:

Langdon>J.Hunt
Shenton>Boomer or Gray

Then..
Ambrose>Honeychurch
Langford>Sam Mitchell

Any suggestions? Not sure what to do

Your mids is the main problem. Shenton needs to be upgraded or benched. You have a few there that still have some moo in them. You might have to wait a week or 2 and downgrade Ambrose and upgrade Shenton or Hartung if you have enough. You could almost get SJ for around 480 in a couple of weeks. Or take the risk and downgrade the D REX and upgrade Hartung that way.

Hm yeah I can do Derickx > B Brown and Hartung > Stef Martin and swap Gray to mids?

Just not sure I wanna take the punt on Martin

Docherty to Hanley or H.Shaw? Or someone unique I haven't thought about? Already have bartel, mcveigh, swallow, malceski and burgoyne.

First post but love reading the supercoach thread gents.

you need to build the bank up for upgrades so I would have said downgrade Taylor and Ambrose, but they have crazy low BE's so forgot that this week
your def and mid rookies aren't making any more money and you wont make a lot if you trade them out, so that hurts you

I'm not exactly encouraging these trades, just throwing some options up

this week:
-Dericks to Stef Martin

next week:
-Taylor/Ambrose to ruck/fwd swingman Ben Brown
320-370 in the bank
-Shenton to premo

or you could skip Stef Martin and double downgrade (Honeychurch + somebody else), then upgrade Hartung to a premo and stick Shenton on the bench as cover (mid/fwd dpp with Honey or whoever else)

problem is you got no defence cover at all, and Docherty at D6 with no cover is a concern

if you double downgrade Taylor and Ambrose in a week (or 2) you'll bank big $$$, you can take punts for cover with guys Grimes (can loophole D6/D7 with Docherty) and Motlop (can loophole M8/M9 with Shenton) or look around for other bargains

maybe move one of your star mid/fwd (Danger/Gray/Parker) to mid and pick up Wingard or another fwd bargain

I guess you need to ask yourself 1) how many trades do you want to hold onto and 2) do you want a star starting team with bad cover or do you want a team with some weak links but have cover

I know this is not much help... more a discussion but yeah, touch decisions to make

edit: what about?

-Dericks to Martin
-Shenton to Wingard
about 60k left

then
-Ambrose/Taylor to Ben Brown
about 260k left

then 1 of or both
-Georgiou to cheapish premo defender under 450k (Docherty to bench)
-Hartun to Honeychurch for mid cover if he starts playing

Yeah I'm not sure about Martin either. You could avoid him and take the risk that your rucks wont miss and downgrade DREX and just upgrade Hartung/Shenton to a better MID or FWD (via DPP)

Yeah my focus is on league wins now (overall rank 1300) so I might just hold off trades this week

I'm sort of thinking of going this way because my focus is to win my leagues now. If Sandi is rested in R22 (SC final) I'd rather trade him to another premo than have a Derickx/Stef Martin trying to get me into the GF.

I can do Derickx > Archie and Shenton > Treloar and just sit on my 5 trades until SC finals..I'm gonna make top 4 in my leagues so not really worried about having no cover

Hibberd

When he comes back to normal this week and drops all his clangers he'll be a 100pt sc option

Sorry for my ignorance but is there a specific reason he is coming back to normal this week? Or purely your gut feel? Good suggestion though

Welcome to the SC forum, the guys in here are a wealth of information. Nice backline, Hanely for me.
