Not sure it was the worst quarter by us. They’ve literally gone through the roof with their pressure. We just don’t have this level in us, it gets shown up every finals time.

As TBD said maybe we do need Lachie to leave to do something about that midfield. Can’t just keep trotting out the same thing and expect different results.

The sad thing is did anyone really if they’re being honest expect any different?

Saw this coming. Their midfield is far too big bodied for ours, it's the same thing everytime against the Demons. They smash us around the ball.

Fages will give them a spray and the boys will have more calmness in their disposal hopefully. No more stupid handballs like those that crept in late.

Straighten up our entries which dropped off also late and we give our forwards the best chance. They just have to fix their accuracy too :p

For all those who delight in this most obvious and entertaining current loss as it stands. I hope you enjoy your night and the upcoming weekend :) you need some happiness in your life evidentially.

No, it’s the big stage. We don’t perform well in big games.

FAGAN needs to pull a rabbit out of his arse to get this rabble to perform on the big stage. how many more magic tricks can fagan put on to the provide the illusion to the sheep who don't know the real Lions. the Lions who can beat up on bottom 8 teams yet struggle to stay in the game against competitive teams. We can't keep papering over the cracks. Need a COMPLETE rebuild. and that includes FAGAN's head.

Don’t need calmness. Need to attack the footy and pressure maniacally

I think Fagan’s legacy will ultimately be making the Lions relevant again and rescuing us from basket case status.

It’s a pretty remarkable achievement, and I love him for it. I just can’t see the fairytale finish.

I feel like we've learned nothing from previous games against Melbourne, because they're carving us up the same way they did last time
They pressure harder and they're just plain faster, both at covering ground and with their decision making. They move the ball down the field before our defenders have woken up, whereas we move forward almost timidly, ambling along and giving them all the time they need to run back. No wonder it looks like they're playing with extra players, they create mismatches everywhere and we're getting sucked in repeatedly.

We need a better midfield mix that's not getting beaten to the ball when it goes near 2/3rds of our players.

We need a degree of personal responsibility rather than trying to dump the ball on to others to make it someone else's problem. You're better off going long and owning the mistake than trying to give it to someone else and causing a turnover where you are, even if it's not directly your fault.

We need a tall to play on Lever. Tom Berry seems to draw the responsibility and can't knock him out of position at about half his size.

We need Hipwood to play in space as a tall half-forward because he can't take a contested mark to save his life - it's always a chest mark at best.

Take away the inexplicable team selections and just chipping it around like a training drill as if there were 2 minutes to play when we had the momentum they completely bullied us around the contest in that quarter and instead of digging in and playing as if our life depended on it we just kept coughing it up desperately handing it off to someone in a worse position. The scary thing is their guns haven't even warmed up.

Surely we're not this bad . The only one who really tried to do anything was Rayner but he didn't have any mates.
