I think it is the available players to be honest. We have 1 mid playing to capacity and all of them are having to work their arses off to counter better midfields. Byrnes is starting to drop away and Wood hasn't been as good recently. Hill had a good game against the Tigers but has been average for weeks before that.


Sinclair looks like the best deliverer of the ball inside 50 but he's having to patrol an enormous amount of the ground and can't be everywhere. When sides have an unaccountable spare behind the ball they can read the play coming in and easily pick off high ball. Hunter Clark was doing a bit of chaos ball delivery inside 50 when he was playing mids. Seemed to work quite well at times and changed things up.

This is such an important game in the context of the season and the boys are going to have to be switched on. I'm worried about the effects on the body after a tough game in the wet last week and a 6 day turnaround. Hope the boys can fire up against a tough opposition. Let's get there to Spud's game and help our boys over the line.

If we want to be taken seriously we have to start to turn up to matches. They won't give us marquee games if we don't bother coming.

On Windy, I was at the Sydney game, and it took him about 3 quarters to find his feet, but once he did, our midfield started working better. Was good again on the weekend.

I like Windy and Clark together around the ball. So hopefully it is someone else out of the midfield rotation when Clark returns.

Training today - couldnt watch too closely - the phone kept ringing:

• Everyone seemed to train except Allison & Clark who worked together
• As noted Hill & Membrey not there
• Ross, Campbell & I think Jones all had caps on (sore etc)
• Dmac, Jones, Hotton seemed to participate in everything
• Hayes out there
• Enthusiasm good
• Harves giving lots of instruction and encouragement re transition drill
• Thought skills were poor early but once warmed up pretty good
• As noted, Steele had no strapping on his knee
• Can see Butler is full of confidence - pretty much converting goals from anywhere
• RTB just quietly giving individual players feedback

If we had 22 Sinclair’s we would run the ball like crazy & hardly ever turn it over!

"It’s nothing significant. We probably pushed his return a little bit so we’ve decided to give him a training block of about six to eight weeks,” Lyon said at this morning’s press conference.

“He just hasn’t been comfortable and confident… and you’ve got to take the feedback (about what players feel about themselves). He could train and play but he just doesn’t feel it’s as strong as it should be."
