As soon as he reads any sort of criticism into a question he puts the questioner down , not sure why you're asking that question etc.

They were lame genuine legit questions. He says he's not sure what the journo's getting at , it's a question that's all. Simple enough to just answer it.
Yep. When he mentioned Gardiner was going to come back through the reserves it was almost like he was in pain. He’s certainly dropped the jovial “Uncle Fages” persona.

Two talls works if Rayner plays a more consistent and accountable style of football. I’d rather have Quinlan, Osborne and Conlan - but I’ll settle for Daniher, Hipwood and Rayner.
Bernie Quinlan 72 years of age, Richard Osborne 59 and Mick Conlon 62 may struggle to get up and down the ground these days.

Didn’t I mention the Time Machine.

I genuinely can not remember anyone throwing shade at Lester.
Have to admit I'm one, he is dependable but in tough situations I've seen him try to toe-poke it out and he is is slow compared to modern footballers and that is physical and between the ears. BUT my daughter whom has been sitting next to me at the footy for some 22 years really is the president of the anti-Lester group. We acknowledge he plays his role and is good at times but I'm putting my hand up to say I've been one to moan out loud, "oh Froggy, haven't we got someone else":tearsofjoy:

Worst thing about playing St Kilda is having to watch St Kilda.
The trick is to have your family take you out for a birthday dinner to not have to watch St Kilda.

He's an awful player and should've been delisted years ago.

I may have been on the sauce since 11 and just trying to annoy 3KZ is Football but there's neither here nor there.

like the team selection this week

have to be mindful that wilkie can likely play very loose with no third tall and not feed the footy down his throat all evening
McCarthy has been the answer there if he's dialled in, so fingers crossed he's on point tonight

prediction time......... Oscar to feed our onballers..........clugger to kick 4 from set shots...........Joe to take 6 strong overhead marks , play unselfishly and be ready for ruck contests only joking.

See that's why I save my sauced posting for Twitter.

What I want to know is why Lester isn't Captain.

He's our best leader, best thinker on the field and damn near our best player.

Hopefully some common sense will prevail in the off season and we go the Chairman Xi route with a leadership group of 1. That way no one can stuff up Lester's great on field leadership.

It's got me beat why he isn't the CEO.

Out- Greg Swann.

In- Ryan Lester.

Fascinating on a few fronts tonight.

Will we have the required tweaks to gameplan that personnel changes dictate? We have a lot more run than a fortnight ago, and a tall down in the forward line. I think the player who could suffer is Daniher if he doesn’t get on the move - not good at wrestling and Wilkie will be floating around as an extra. The player that could benefit is Lohmann - first instinct is to lower his eyes and we should have players free for him.

Will we match the saints for intensity? They will be fired up after a loss. Spud’s game. We should be fired up to, huge for our season. If we get hijacked at the start will be a real worry that again we struggle away from the gabba and when we are not as emotionally ‘high’ as the opposition.

How important is experience? For once we will have more ‘kids’ this week. It used to hurt us. I think it might help now because we still have so many 100 plus gamers. We have almost felt stale at times this year.

Where is Oscar at? If he is well beaten by Marshall and it helps decide the game we would have to think about Fort instead or 2 rucks as the default. Oscar has been a bit up and down. I think he needs some help.

Going to the game, will be my last of h&a season for various reasons. I’m going glass half full until / unless we get 3 goals down. Then i’ll be very worried about our entire season and premiership window.

Go lions

Saints lost both previous spud's games Perhaps the pressure to win gets to them

I've been confident the last two games, up to half time.

This week in going straight to nervous.

If we are in control at the 15 minute mark, not necessarily on the scoreboard but if we are calm and deliberately controlling the play, we will romp it in. Too much pride saving hanging on this win for then to lose focus this week.

If not, I'll be hiding behind the lounge watching via the reflection in the glass door hoping like hell we can jag the win.

When I was a kid we had playing coaches. Murray , Barrassi ,Nicholls, Whitten . With what coaches cop now can you imagine what a playing coach would cop if things weren't going well.

But your idea has prompted me to think we could get with the times and usher in a new era.

The playing CEO .Ryan Lester.
