Lol, only 2 pts between us but i was ranked 773 for the week. Lot of teams on similar scores

I know I say this a lot but this is without doubt the faultiest day of SC of all time. Went in with a huge lead today with pods of:

Rockfault 68
Adams 63
Merrett 92
Sandilands 12

The other guy had Witherden on the field as a pod with 91 and I lost by 16 points. To top it off I'm 3k off Sandifault to Gawn because he dropped so much from the injury.

Infinity billion/10

Sounds like your luck was just full of faults mate..... :rainbow:

I've been complaining about my run of bad luck in recent weeks, and rightly so; Sloane being nothing but garbage the week I traded him in; Lynch scoring consecutive 39's the two weeks after I trade him in; Selwood going down injured, losing me multiple H2H matches; Selwood being a late withdrawal; and much more.

Well... thank you to the SC gods for giving me some luck equilibrium this week!

A ONE POINT WIN AFTER ORIGINALLY BEING PROJECTED TO LOSE BY 200+ :fire: :rainbow: :thumbsu:

Sandi getting injured helped me massively, as did Murphy coming up big stepping into the shoes of Selwood off the bench.

All this with Roberton (60), Adams (64), Laird (72), Pendlebury (78), Oliver (80), Bont (85) Sloane (90) among those that tried to sabotage the win!

So in the end I scored 2,317, and whilst I dropped 45 ranking spots, still sit 1,121. :D :thumbsu:

I thought overall rank was irrelevant to you???

;)

;)

Irrelevant in so far that I am ineligible to win the 50k if I was lucky enough to finish first overall. Pretty fair reason i'd have thought! ;)

But am happy enough to track my rank given i'm on track to record my best season to date. :thumbsu:

Score: 2252
Weekly Ranking: 33777
Overall Ranking: 19751 (19586)
Heroes: Docherty, McDonald, Dangerfield (C), Zorko
Villains: Adams, Laird, Rockliff
Trades Made: Stewart and Berry to McDonald and Cox
Trades Planned: ??? and ??? to Witherden and Gawn/Darcy
Trades Left: 11

Trades: 7/10

Tom McDonald started excellently for my side; and I traded Cox in to cover JJK and he was tracking well at half time, but faded to be the worst scoring performer. Still; the trade generated plenty of $$$ which will be useful in the future.

Defence: 4.5/10

Docherty continues to be one of the best performers in my side; ably supported by the debutant McDonald, but the other four premiums didn't reach those heights; Shaw recovered to post an 85, Laird and Lloyd were below par, and Taylor Adams shanked both his kicking and my chances at a 2300+ score.

Midfield: 4.5/10

Balance is restored as Dayne Zorko returned to the heroes podium; supporting the glorious captaincy of Patrick Dangerfield; but they had little support. Treloar tonned up and Mountford, covering Beams, chipped in with a decent score; but they had very little support; Rockliff has been one of my worst trade-ins of the season, Bontempelli returned to his slump; Fyfe hasn't got out of his, and Pendlebury is less dependable this season. Fortunately Dangerfield scored enough for 1 and half premiums (two full supposed premiums + a rookie in my side).

Rucks: 8/10

Nice week for Nankervis to return to form; Witts was back to his good, solid scoring, and although he probably hasn't featured in many 'Heroes' lists, he's been one of the best performers of the season.

Forwards: 4.5/10

Sort of a vanilla day for the forwards; Cox only scored 46, but I can forgive that seeing as he's a rookie. No awful scores - though they could have been better; no tons, but special mention to Hugh Greenwood who boosted his score with a fine last quarter.

Overall: 5.5/10

Comments:

Best score of the year (shows how bad I've been,) and I'm still disappointed. Could have easily been 2450+ if my below-par players had just reached a score one should be able to expect from them; still, despite dropping a tiny bit in the rankings, it was nice to get an alright score at long last.

Now there is the question of trades; although I'm anal retentive about keeping 'premiums', if I did the trades of Beams to Witherden, Eddy to Darcy and then Witts to Gawn next week, I'd have 8 trades and $600k in the kitty, with an alright team - albeit one with Shaw D6, Rookie M8 (Would be targeting Selwood), and Nankervis F6, with Greenwood rotating between M/F.

Trading Beams would allow my rookies more time to mature and with the cash reserve, I would hopefully be able to pluck a few more premiums down the track.
