Henry did some nice things with the ball but you can’t flame the fwds for lack of pressure and not include him in the mix , just stops as soon as the ball is past him like he always does

Can't agree entirely. Turnstyles for arms for sure and that's something he needs to work on but he was in their face today. Our midfield weirdly lacked that 2 way run which exposed them to far more pressure than they should've been under. Freddy had a shocker, Lobb will want to forget this. Schultz tried hard. Tabs did all you can expect but it wasn't enough.

The mids lost this. Darcy, Brayshaw, Serong: Just not good enough today and that's the harsh truth. Fyfe and Mundy now have, for the first time in their careers (which is a testament to them) now have the spotlight on their roles.

Haven’t watched the game yet but know the result
What’s the general consensus for the fail ?

Umpire’s?
Coach ?
Players ?
No Switta ?
Banfield ?

I was interested to see if he had added any sort of defence to his game while out of the side so I watched him pretty close

Not that I could see , he was stronger in the contest so that’s a plus but DH King could rip him to pieces with the little coloured circle of doom on Fox sports if he wanted too

That's why no club has hired King as an analyst. Definite improvement, but it will be a slow burn. Still, one of the few positives outside of defence today

Well I was having a s**t time watching this game and just as Carlton were stamping out our small resurgence late in the third, my tough as nails sister pushed her first child (and my parents first grandchild) out into the light.

Never been so happy after a loss.

Plenty of storylines after this game, once again will be very interesting to see how the club responds this week.
All the good things in life aren't always revolved around football. Congrats for your sister and your family, nice :)

The reactionary s**t some of you put out after a loss is embarrassing. You can’t win them all. Have a good hard look at yourselves and move on.

Lloyd closing the gap on Darcy ?

I like my ruckmen to provide a bit of pressure at ground level , that’s why I’d love Jackson

DeKoning was excellent today with that

Meeks a bit of a Kmart Luke Jackson

Banfields 4 goals game pretty much won us the game? He was not the reason we lost today! Wow!

I am not saying he is. I am saying he is ****ing useless and adds next to nothing. One good game doesn't make up for a career of shit but it somehow gave him more time to show how shit he is.

From a personnel perspective, the main thing we’re missing is the big, attacking wingers (O’Driscoll and Acres). From a performance perspective, it was the lack of defensive accountability in the middle and up forward. They walked it out of the middle and they walked it out of our forward line. Yes, Switkowski would help with that, but it just looked like a very flat team jogging around at half pace and tackling with very little effort. We were flat, they’re a good side. Need to bounce back.

Henry was very good. If he plays like that every week, he stays in and Banfield comes out when we get Acres back (and Chapman for Hughes, obviously).
