They can never let this one go. Ever.

Also don’t seem to grasp the basic principle that football is never decided on one umpiring call alone. Flip any dubious call they get earlier in the game and the Hodge moment never plays out. Maybe we win comfortably.
Last I watched the game, I spotted something like half a dozen non-calls, dodgy frees or 50/50 calls (not to mention lucky bounces) that went their way during their run of centre clearances in the last. They gambled it all to win, by running ahead of the ball in waves.

Any one of those goes against them, we score because they’re overcommitted. Game over. But sure, yeah, the Hodge non-free stopped their FIVEPEAT.

(It’s like listening to Wet Toast fans complaint that Leo Barry should never have taken THAT mark because it was a certain free to someone anyone for a push out. Fifteen years after that fact.)

Anyhow.

With our outs, we shouldn’t get close tonight. But for some reason I keep thinking about Daniel Chick’s brother-in-law and that final against Port in Adelaide in 2001. Makes me think we’ll at least make them earn it tonight.

And it reminds me of the night I tried to sweet talk a gorgeous girl one night in Sydney, years ago. Problem was, she kept talking about this footballer she’d met on the plane from Adelaide the day before. Said he was the nicest, most handsome bloke she’d ever met. Wouldn’t shut up about him. What an a-hole I thought. I never had a chance. Screw him.

It was a young man by the name of Shaun Burgoyne. Goes alright that bloke.

Thanks Shaun. Congrats on the 400.

Go Hawks.

But why let everyday cause and effect science diminish that huge anti-Hawks/Vics chip they love to lug around on their shoulders.

Keeping things real – Silk, we salute – no matter the margin tonight. HFC royalty, on field and off.

They had the most charmed run with the umpires during their comeback in that game. There were some absolute shockers, which they fail to remember.

Got to say the seating arrangements are ****ing stupid, considering the low number of fans that they have allowed in.

We’ve all been clumped together in patches. 🥴

oh, and close the ****ing roof.
