We certainly looked a bit more solid in the middle after we swapped Lyons and McCarthy around (at least in general play). It's the first real sign we've seen that the coaching staff are bit concerned with his production in there.

Yeah, I'm guessing he's just trying to be optimistic. I think we'll end up getting a bit of a preview into the post Rich+Zorko team over the next few weeks.

Looks like Center Bounce Attendances got added to the stats page and Lyons was right up there. Didn't feel like that watching the game though which was strange.

Another bank the 4 points and move on type of game I guess although we were pretty good in the second half.

Kiddy was good. Charlie bloody good especially 3rd quarter. Prior good especially first half. Harris good, plays much better off the number 1 forward. Berry was good in his 100th.

Same old issues early on and throughout with the midfield. Mcstay not great. Father Time catching up with Zorks and Dan.

The best part of the night though was reading Mark Stevens have a bitch on Twitter about free kicks. If he wasn’t such a tosser I’d have thought he was just taking the **** himself.

Have some sympathy for the man, when you are too incompetent to be the vic libs press advisor you know you’ve got nothing good going on.

I think a lot of those would’ve come in the second half and in particular once the game was over. I noticed him in there a bit more in that last quarter in particular.

Fagan’s learnings? Prior and Ah Chee have to be in the side every game for the rest of the year. With Zorko and most likely Rich out, time to reward Mathieson and Lester? McStay out for Fort. Time to put our form players in the side and stick with them. We can’t paper over the cracks with one good win against a wounded opponent on our home ground. Prior and Berry showed the way in terms of grunt and effort. We need more of it.

McStay has been poor recently, but Hipwood has been worse.

I would drop Hipwood. not for him to find some form but because he has played 7 games without looking like a player. I am worried that Hipwood's best may be behind him.

We were well beaten around the packs and we badly need another inside mid. We were slaughtered in the centre square. Matho must play.

Paine was OK.

Brownie had something like a dozen back in the day and the commentators were raving about the "world record".

Interesting! These days it's pretty uncommon to see 3+ assists in a game. The leaders of the stat this year are averaging just over 1 per game. Huge effort from Charlie to get 5 in a game. I'd be surprised if anyone has had more than that this year.

Surely they recognise when a team has specifically trained to not give away free kicks, and that it is on their own team not to infringe.
