7 trades left.

What are your thoughts on Newman V Shaw? I have both but want to upgrade one to Hurley.
Last two weeks Shaw has had reasonable scores in the 90's .....seems to be on an upward curve towards the business end of the season .....could we see the best of Shaw from here?

First things first...what is Shaw's contract status for next yr ? Does he have one ?
Newman needs upgrading.
Been brilliant but there is enormous pressure on his spot that will only increase as the run home continues. Guys like Aliir and Laidler hanging about waiting. Shaw's scoring will actually improve i reckon when guys return from injury to GWS. If u cant loop them most weeks, i;d hold Shaw upgrade Newman.
Newman doesnt look as mobile as he did 6 weeks ago and disposal dropping off. One down game and he'll be "rested" i reckon.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, also that Newman may be cooked after a long stretch.

Leaves me with 5 and 155k
and
Doc, Laird, Adams, ------Hibbered
Hurley, Lloyd, Shaw-------Nyhuis

Danger, Bont--------------Witherden
Oliver, Kelly, Trelor--------Bolton
Gaz,Kennedy, Fyfe---------Deluca C

Sauce, Martin-------------strangedic

Dal, Mac, Heeney----------Greenwood
Nank, Yeo, Stewart--------Eddy

Cover on every line and one upgrade to go :)

Ask yourself, what would Mav do ?

Just about every week from here will feel this way...injuries and "resting" players for finals will be a weekly thing to deal with and no trades to deal with it. The new normal.
Assume 2 possible 3 for Pendlebury. The majority of the top 50 will be desperate to hold and cover coz very few will have >2-3 trades left. More important do you believe he would necessarily average higher than 90ish when he returns ? i.e. 2-3 weeks out then maybe 1 to 2 more at 90ish. The bloke hasnt exactly been setting the world on fire before this injury has he.

4 left in the kitty and i;m spending one on dumping him.

We arnt here for the excellent sandwiches Mav.

Whats the downside moving him on ? He comes back earlier than thought and does bugger all anyway ?
Go hard or go home champ....we know you're top 50 and gunning it. Been there twice and was far too conservative and ended up out in the 200's....regret not going harder and risking a finish in the 400's.

I feel the need, the need for speed.

Well I do love Top Gun and I always feel the need, the need to speed, I mean trade! :D:thumbsu:

Is this a sign saying "JM, time to trade?":fire::fire::fire:

The Newman decision for many may be forced anyway.

If i was abetting man i;d have a sly bet on Newman being rested THIS week...and then 50/50 at best him being seen again this yr. Looks like he's feeling it, fair enough.
It is a position Horse CAN afford to muck around with.
Turns out Melican wasnt SC relevant as a backman, but as a KPD he is less expendable than Newman. If Horse is going to play around with a few roles it needs to be the next 2-3 weeks before list stability becomes a must going into finals.

Got 2 or more trades left ?
Whats the coverage like if one or both of Danger/Sloane are out as well ?
Just keep the aggression going i reckon. Got u this far this year.
The last month the SC Gods decide our fate anyway....you could have 8 trades left and still go backwards.

This is my team with 2 trades left and $2,200 in the kitty.

How many games does danger have to miss, $$$ dropped or playing injured to make the trades worthwhile?

if he misses 2 i think it is a very worthwhile option

Its nice. Less requirement to do anything this week than many others might have. May not be "nice" to say it but a return to peeling oranges for lilhibberd is a bonus for us.
Easy enough to flip Adams/Lloyd with Hibberd to cover Pendles and u have Greenwood playing at home to cover Danger this week, which is about as good cover as we could hope for at this time of yr. Can then maybe loop Ryan/Sharon with lilhibberd to help.
Sharon at halftime last week was on his way to a 110...just as likely one of him and Ryan can beat 90.
If u stare at the team long enough there are likely more options too.

Hmmm. No reason not wait a week for news on Pendlebury i suppose. Plus u likely wont lose anything against the pack above you...just not make up much if any ground. The only worry is the pack behind you.

With 4 i'd trade which i will be. With 2 and that team i'd at least relax and wait a week for news. Having Greenwood/Hibberd on the mid bench is the clincher for me. Maybe i was a tad hasty :D

Evening gang, I think i finally have my trades worked out for the week, i had a few options but ultimately this one is the best option this week due to break evens and expected price rises.

Parsons > Bayok and Greenwood > The Chad, i was looking at Greene and Macrae also but i think chad has the biggest ceiling and is the best footballer. Great Pod too being in only 4.3% of teams currently yet the SP Loophole Lord Bayok is in more teams at 5.3% ownership.

This leaves me with 145k and 3 trades, Next week or the week after ill go Shaz or Ryan down to Junker whos def/mid which allows Witherden to go back and either Newman upto Hurley Or pendles to Dusty/Mitchell/Merret depending on how long Pendles is out for.

Im quite happy with my team now apart from a few so called Premo mids, Wallis as bench cover should come in quite handy and now i can use Bayok to loophole Wallis or Witherdens scores in, and when i get Junker in the next fortnight Witherden will be able to go in defence if need be. scteam20.7.png

well i've already bottled it on the Wingard trade, im thinking Macrae now. Something i should have done a bloody long time ago, he just seems a much safer pick and after just looking at both players averages vs opponents for the rest of the year its sad reading for chad compared to Macrae.

Jack has 4 home games at Etihad with 1 at the gabba and 1 in cairns at Cazaly, fun fact Macrae has only ever played one game at the gabba, How? do the dogs normally only play brisbane in melbourne?

Chad has 4 home games at AO and one each at the G and etihad.

Macraes avg vs opponets for the rest of the year are 123, 105, 110, 87, 90, 87.
Chads are 69, 107, 83, 73, 80, 88.

Its obviously only a rough guide but it was enough to sway me over to Macrae, for the time being..

Chad always played as a 90% forward - comparison a tad unfair tbh based on current roles

The Chad is to boom and bust for me. And he has burnt me a couple times. His scoring is like your taking a gamble on a 2nd-3rd year rookie, problem is that it's his 6th year.

Just a thought on Gary Ablett and if he does go to geelong next year, youd think he'd know by now what he wants to do. If he has decided that he'll be going to Geelong next year or retire and these are his last 6 games for the Gold Coast then theres a fair chance he is going to go out with a blaze of glory.

He seems a very proud man and footballer and im sure he would love to end his legacy on a high note and play some great footy and more importantly score his **** off in supercoach.

Obviously a bit of a risk with his recent injury history but boy oh boy woooweee it could pay off big time, the ultimate left field trade would be Danger down to Ablett and use the 170 k for an instant upgrade from a greenwood, Newman type, even rockliff the ways he going to a preem.

Thoughts?

Alternatively GAJ could play "protected" bruise free ball to ensure he gets to the cats injury free??

Just had a look and I am 201 points off 10th.

Just not sure what to do.

I really want to win my cash league as I won it last year and would love to go back to back.

If Pendles only misses 2 weeks I would be fine with that but I can't tell for sure.
If Danger is out, that 201 points will be nothing if you swing the right moves. It will really shake things up with no straight fwd capt choice and you would feel that a lot at the top would not have the trades to cover both danger and pendles.
I know what you are saying about leagues, but I would much rather come 2nd in my league and say i finished top 10!

Top 10 = 1K

He couldn't breathe pre byes.
I'd wager that had more to do with it than his contract.
Although i do agree, players contract status does influence form.
Not in nats case though i think
Chose Ebert on that basis this yr. Worked again. Solid rather than Primo Mid but very much underpriced after a poor season. Out of contract in 2017 with no offer on the table, and 27 years old.
Boom. Second only to Oliver perhaps as midfield buy of the year.
Nothing like seeing a contract looming, your income plummet, or head on the block to get the form going.
Well known in SC circles as TCS...."Travis Cloke Syndrome"

Whether we believe in it or not, the correlation between contract status and form has always been more than a little coincidental...as they approach the end of their careers e.g. Shaw, it can become a serious factor.

Motlop might disagree.:D

Pendles to Treloar

Could've gone Pendles and Schara to Dusty but I've only got 3 trades left.

Hoping Treloar can reproduce some of his pre-bye form while pendles is out.
