Last time I flew to Sydney he was sitting in 1A.Flying home to Sydney - the Koch Meister boards in advance - expecting to see him in business as I pass through. But no - he is back with the plebs. Must be feeling the pain of losing those Sunrise dollars
Yeah you can. It was a classic Hinkley lossSorry to be controversial but you can’t put that loss down to Hinkley
And even if we have to play our qualifying final in Brisbane, I don't believe we need to fear going up there. Win that, and anything is possible from there. We’ve shown more killer instinct and clutch play this year than any year i can remember since the old Magpies days. Sydney, Dogs, Saints, Melbourne, Essendon were all big clutch wins. We kicked a goal from 55 basically on the boundary a few weeks ago to win.
Losing to what is the best clutch team the AFL has ever seen by 2 points doesnt change that. We absolutely have to beat Adelaide and Geelong now though
We need to throw everything at a top ruckman, everyone has their price.Besides being beaten in ruck, Lycett managed 5 disposals and flat palmed a couple of straight forward overhead marks in a manner that would have done an U/12 proud
When the only tool you have is a Hinkley, every problem looks like a sacking. Its interesting when we win, we associate it with Carr say he's the "one in charge" and disregard Hinkley but when we lose we blame it on Hinkley.
I just don't see the logic in this...
RozeeWith Wines current form, surly he can’t be our next captain, who should be then??

It was a technical odd call
Farrel is not a defender
Darcy Cameron for **** sake..Darcy Cameron had 20 hit outs to advantage. His previous best was 13. Put in a decent ruck like Hayes and you get a different result.
I reckon again.. our senior players shat themselves again in a big game..Sorry to be controversial but you can’t put that loss down to Hinkley
You played better on the night and thought you were harder generally at the ground balls. Rozee great, Houston very good and SPP great. Butters attack on the footy is insanity for a man of his size. A truly remarkable footballer.
For those of you who hate Hinkley, you can't be wrong. Either he wins the big games this year and as fans you will be delirious, or he doesn't and you can say told you so. From my view you're clearly going in a new direction with new, young, very impressive players. And as our Malthouse experience shows, it's not always a good thing to shake up the team when its heading in the right direction. I know head coaches carry baggage, but they should also get better over time too.
It may not be this year, it still might be, but that Drew, JHF, Butters and Rozee mix should take you very far in the next 4-6 years.
What a weak effort by Farrell at a critical moment, does this too often. I don't think it's a mark.Agree that it should be a mark but also agree that Farrell is too soft here. He wouldn't have kicked it even if it was called, you can tell with his lack of intensity here.
Did you just compare 3 time premiership coach, 7 time grand final coach, all time coaching games record holder, premiership player and hall of famer Mick Malthouse to career loser, hillbilly , greyhound slaughterer Ken Hinkley?
Yeah I think this is one of those games where as fans we can take the good out of it and not be too unhappy with the effort or result.Just watched the Hinkley post game presser. His glass half full approach and blind optimism is exactly why he needs to be replaced. He has conflated the idea of a one goal loss in a game that could have gone either way as being just as meritorious as winning that same game by a goal.
They're doing a lot right, and to suggest otherwise would be ignorantly foolish. But there's a killer instinct that this team lacks which all of the top teams in history have. And until they can fix that (and imo they won't fix it under Ken) they are going to be forever the bridesmaid.
Sorry to be controversial but you can’t put that loss down to Hinkley
What’s the difference here….
