Kane is trying to be controversial as usual.Clearly he’s trying to put his thumb on the scale to try to get Rioli off …
(1) Sure, staging is a thing, but in this era not when somebody makes deliberate contact with your head.
(2) Not sure that the league is too concerned about staging in off-the-ball incidents.
(3) Cornes will know very well that Murphy has a history of getting concussed after fairly innocuous incidents. (And getting up unscathed after bone crunching ones)
I’d hope that somebody has a quiet word to Cornes behind the scenes that he can’t be making comments like that in this age.
Ball seemed to keep skidding past us. I don't think the MCG gets like that, or at least drains fairly quickly.I think the wet weather brought us back a bit it stifled our handball a bit and clean ball movement

Imagine if that was Nick Daicos - it would be his frustrations after being tagged have boiled over. Needs to be suspended to set an example. Needs to be better than that. Etc
Still not creating enough spillage and stoppages in our forward line. McStay needs to stay disciplined against the likes of Allir. That role is crucial. Surely we have a player we can play forward and apply manic pressure.

Taylor Adams was interviewed after the game. Said that Daicos was beaten in the first half. Adams kept his morale up by reminding him he was untaggable for 4 quarters. And he did lift in the last. He was very good in the last. Adams was rapt with the way Daicos fought it out.
So was I.
Anybody with any nous could see that.
Go re-watch the game.
Legend.
Over to you boys to put the nail in Hinkleys coaching coffin next week
His best quarter was his last.
And you know what, it meant we won.
I’m not hanging s**t on the kid. I was actually proud of his game, because for 3 quarters he got sat on, Drew and Rozee were rampant and in the end, he powered on. He didn’t drop his head.
Nick Daicos got reminded of finals where it’s very hard to run around running your own show.
Port’s spread was much better. They squeezed DeGoey and Nick and they made it a grind. The conditions suited it. I think we are a better dry team.
But, full credit to Port. They almost executed perfectly.
Best Game McStay has played for Collingwood
It's almost as if he is a 20yo, 2nd year player still developing his game at AFL... lol.
Even when he was quieter then typical in that first half he had some good in close handballs but the player receiving stuffed the next passage up.
If they're sacking players, we'll have Butters & Rozee. The port thread is an interesting read. Wow they go hard at Ken, they played better than us tonight and apparently all the players need to be sacked too. Ahh BF the team names might be different but the posters are all the same. Oh and apparently according to them they got totally screwed by the umps. I swear I was reading some of our old comments in it.
I thought McStay was largely invisible
Agree. Big implications for their season too possibly with Dixons knee a consequence of his time in the ruck.I honestly think port subbing lycett was huge win for pies. His ability to absolutely hold Cameron every stoppage without giving a free was amazing.
Will be the ultimate goal sneak if he can complete the transformation
Which in particular?
People are idiots. Be mad at the action, not at his skin tone.
It's amazing that he is still talked about as a young player still finding himself in the game, and still learning and developing his craft, yet he will more than likely win the Brownlow. Its just amazing to even fathom that feat.....
I dunno what to feel after that. Elation of course, but I behaved really badly during that game. We had friends over, and I swore and yelled a lot, and they looked a bit shocked. Then I ran out of the room with ten minutes to go, and didn’t come back until the siren.
Mr Park is now giving me the silent treatment for ‘behaving like a child’.
I don’t think I’m cut out for these high pressure games. Was seriously thinking of giving footy away during that game.
But not before we win the flag.
MRO will give it a week
Intentional, low impact, high contact.
They'll take it to the tribunal and try to get intentional changed to careless.
That was my first thought, but the light moves when the camera is still & there’s also a duller light on the grass towards the end of the clip. Was that a laser light? Looked like a reflection on the lens....
How do you think the MRO will grade it?Low impact? Murphy was down for awhile.
Isn't he the forward coach?Brilliant backline
Leppa has been fantastic with structure
Cornes is saying Murphy milked it and the AFL should look at a staging fine. The lack of remorse made it worse. Spraying Murphy after he kicked his set-shot. How many weeks you guys reckon?
