People obviously didn't like Rioli's actions on Murph, but no one deserves comments like that. Hopefully these clowns aren't members of our great club, and just observers.

Nick's first 3 quarters were the worst 3 quarters I've seen from him. Drew well and truly took the points against him. He was fumbly, missing targets by foot and by hand, gave away costly free kicks and looked flustered. Credit to him he pushed through that and had a good 4th quarter but lets not pretend it was a good game from him.

Given that my initial reaction to your post was complete astonishment, I fail to see how it’s hyperbole.

Yeah, he wasn’t up to his usual ridiculously high standard. But saying he was “sat on his arse” and beaten by a bloke that had 9 less disposals and less than half the clearances he had is just flat out not true. Add to that, while he had a dirty night by his standards he was still instrumental in things he did off the ball.

I knew it was going to happen, but it seems like the Pendlebury effect is well and truly in play even with our supporter base. We’re at the point now where a 25 disposal, 9 clearance 1 (clutch af) goal is a poor game from Nick apparently.

Nah the umpires weren't too bad tonight. Let it go a fair bit similar to finals.
A couple of deliberate OOB were shocking and they were holding our players all night at the stoppages and ruck contests, but we had a few go our way too. If we lost that I wouldn't have blamed the umps

It's hilarious isn't it? I read comments from some of our supporters tonight and feel like I've watched a different game. I read their thread after the match and definitely thought I'd watched a different game.

Yeah some of the comments on here during the game were outrageous. Plenty made absolutely no sense.

We’re lucky to be Collingwood fans. The team has really spoiled us the past 2 seasons.

To me it seemed we struggled in those wet, slippery conditions. Port handled those 10x better which they also showed against Melbourne.

That, and with they hype on winning this game in front of their home crowd, I think they have fired their absolute best shot which still didn’t get them over the line.

In my view, Brisbane is our only challenger because of their forward line which is a handful

Clearly he’s trying to put his thumb on the scale to try to get Rioli off …

(1) Sure, staging is a thing, but in this era not when somebody makes deliberate contact with your head.

(2) Not sure that the league is too concerned about staging in off-the-ball incidents.

(3) Cornes will know very well that Murphy has a history of getting concussed after fairly innocuous incidents. (And getting up unscathed after bone crunching ones)

I’d hope that somebody has a quiet word to Cornes behind the scenes that he can’t be making comments like that in this age.

Cheating Scumps could not get Port over the Line

Thought the umpiring was quite good actually - much better than the Crows game there earlier in the year which was terrible.

Sure, the umpires put the whistle away, except for deliberate out of bounds which they were a bit more trigger happy than usual about. But it was fairly consistent and that’s all you can ask for.

Some of the comments in here are disgusting.

I love this club, I don't think we played well, Port we're absolutely up and about for that game, massive we could get the win.

Mitchell is fine and much needed in this team, the reason Adams is playing great footy past month is because of the help from Mitchell, don't forget that guys.

McStay and Checkers love the contest work.

Murphy and Moore unbelievable.
