i think the umpiring over the entire weekend has copped backlash, highest free kicks per game of any round this season

I get the feeling the umps were deliberately trying to send a message/tighten up in order to get players playing nice/fair ahead of finals.

Hardwick mentioned in his presser that their plans for 2 rucks/Soldo went out the window due to the rain and the game not being as mobile as they'd expected. Less work, meant less need to rest Nank, so Soldo was benched. I imagine the idea of playing him as a tall marking forward was also put aside due to the conditions.

I'm not worried. After the Melbourne, Brisbane, Port and GWS games I know it'll just fire them up if the opposition get physical with them. I just find it funny that articles like this always come out just before we play the team the article is about.
