There's a very good reason his old man is a 1 year new job kinda guy, and it doesn't have to do with what he's capable of, it has to do with the vacuum that is inside his head.

Apple don't fall far from tree with that fam in my experience, I am glad that boy is not the club I support same as I was glad when his old man got the arse.

Isn't our recruiting manager his half brother?

Bruce easily.

Watch closely - he's going laterally and then changes direction - two steps forward and he's on Hurley shoulders.

De Goey had straight run from 10 metres away to make his jump, did a two handed press up and still barely got above the Tigers players shoulder.

Heppell - no mark free kick to Bruce for the two handed push in the back before the contest.

Had a look at some of the highlights last night. Our midfield took the foot off the gas in the middle part of the game, same as the week before. The forwards just seemed to be hanging back, and dunno, but looked like they had run out of legs in the second half and couldn't make strong contests, hence Saad, Hurley etc got the ball too easy. Might be a case of team fitness yet to peak?

Just watched the last quarter again. Scoreboard flattered the Bombers as their last two goals were complete crap. One an incredibly soft freekick to Heppell, then the umpire missed McKernan taking Brown's head off. Didn't matter in the end I guess.
Collingwood fans would cry over that free paid to Heppell. It was much softer than the one that wasn’t paid and allowed Sheed to mark for the last goal of the GF.

Watch the Brown one then, that is as blatant as you will see, rips his head off in front of the umpire.

You also have to wonder why Bruce was only in the leadership group momentarily like Mav if he's such a good leader?
Like a number of other clubs recently, we reduced the number in our leadership group from I think 8 to 6 or 5, so it was really probably a last-in-first-out type situation with Josh.

As for Mav, he was in the leadership group for 3 years, not the 1 that Bruce was.

It is a different bump from what we are used to seeing in the aFl. Which is more traditionally a side on bump instead of facing your opponent front on and barging your shoulder into them. It has flattened both players, so i am not complaning!
There was one passage of play on the broadcast side wing at one stage where we did 3 of those front-on shoulder barges under the armpit in a row, to put the Essendon blokes over the boundary and/or on their asses. Was fun to rewind and watch!

True. Better stat would be intercept marks. Don’t know where you can source that from.
The Herald Sun stats in the paper the day after the game. Hurley 3 intercept marks, Francis 4.

Sav had 4 for us and Brown 3.

Essendon took 22 to our 15.

Just looking forward to seeing Essendon going 0-3 after this weekend.

Do you reckon Devon Smith feels like a bit of a knob end after his round 1 “graveyard” shit giving to his old club? Seems like they didn’t have a good read on their form at all.

The Bombers look stale and are playing that way - sack Worsfold and Harvey , they need fresh blood.
It look's like Ratten and Lade have really left there mark on our team and they are getting the best out of the players.
Just the banter and joking amongst the coaches and players has really had a effect.
Looking at how we are going this game is for the taking as well as the following week against the Hawks - we could end up 4 and 0
this might cause Caro to choke on her false teeth

There's some relation there, I'm letting it slide though because he actually looks like his head is screwed on straight.

Man I was feeling very uncomfortable towards the end of the third though… couldn't believe what I was seeing. Bombers must have had 20 inside 50's that quarter, yuk.

Never in doubt for me, yes the Bombers had a bit of a run on, but they never really impacted the scoreboard much as they had the same sort of breaks and the ball simply ping ponged around a bit or they eeked out small victories as both sides went to work it out where they just did it a little quicker in some stages.

It was never meaningful and I had full confidence after several of their players plum gave up contests and imitating footballers that that it'd be too few, too late and not enough to surpass us.

Same reason I think we have a chance against Freo, round 1 had NFI how they were scoring goals, round 2 don't think they can claw back a deficit and play from behind very well, so we capitalise on the same sort of start and go say 6.3 or 7.2 and Freo will trundle around and not make it up for mine.

That's amazing... I scoffed a IIIPA in the third, snuck a cheeky nang and shat my pants.

But it all worked out in the end :thumbsu:

How did this sleeper hold on Brown in last minute get missed?

Seriously, cream of the shit umpiring!
