I've been playing this game for a long time, but I can't remember a time where I managed to ballsup 3 trades quite as badly as I did this week.:straining:

Players I would have been forced to start on-field had I made 0 trades

Roberton 0
Tyler Brown 43
Brayshaw 88
Max King 77
Brander 58
= 266 pts

What the 5 players I traded IN and fielded scored

Doedee 39
Wingard 60
Long 41

Rivers 62
Taylor 78
= 280 pts

5 trades used for +14 points :poo:

You inspired me to do the maths here.

Guys I would have played if I hadn't traded = 355 points, including a donut in the backline.

Guys I played instead this round = 404 points.

So five trades earned me 49 points. I could have just done one trade to avoid the donut and got a similar result.

Idiot sandwiches all round

You'll be better set up for the future though I'd imagine.

I think you'll have a lot of us working that out now.

Probably two ways to calculate it. One is simply the points scored by the players you traded out compared to those scored by those you traded in and the other is to compare what the 5 on field players you ended up with scored compared to the 5 players you would have fielded had you made no trades.

For me the 5 players I traded out scored 78, made up of a 78 and 4 DNPs. The 5 players I traded in scored 336.
The 5 players I would have fielded had I made no trades scored 179 including 2 donuts. The 5 players I fielded scored 320.

So effectively 5 trades for 141 points which doesn't seem a lot, but there's so much more to it than that. The team now looks so much stronger and is so much better set up going forward.

Thanks gaiz, I feel much better about my shitty trades now.

The web design team at AFL house probably have to justify their salaries by "rebrading" the AFL web presence. Imagine dumping money to redesign something that already worked ok.

I think the design elements and styling on their own are actually fine.

Its the overall UX and the way the site is layed out which is awful.

I ended up going with

T Lynch -> Viney - not great
T. Green -> McHenry - not great
Roberton -> Doedee - lol
BZT -> Rivers - good
Robertson -> Bennell - good

I got 2174, which moved me up to 40k ranking.

A pretty shitty start to the year. Now just trying to make some cash and finish the season strong.

Certainly amended the monstrosity of round one, which is literally a distant memory now!

Ended up scoring 2311, rocketing up 46k ranking spots to sit ranked a more respectable 15,466th overall.

Shining lights: Gawn 184, Neale 171, Rowell 171, Howe 126, Crippa 117, Cogs 111, Starcevich 99, Taylor 78. :fire:

Anoos Town: Houston 60, Noble 41, Pickett 37, Dusty 79. :poo:

Best part was my shrewd trading of:

1. Roberton -> Howe
2. B. Smith -> Cogs
3. Bont -> Viney
4. BZT -> Rivers
5. McPherson -> Ceglar

The latter trade broke even, but still consider it a win with McPherson no longer gracing the field with his shitness! Happy days! :rainbow:
