WHY THE F WAS MACMILLAN PLAYING A LOCKDOWN ROLE ON THE WEEKEND AND NOT AN ATTACKING HALF BACK ROLE????
I didn't see the whole game but I was also bemused. I guess it was mainly because of how highly we rate WC's forwardline? In any case our skills were horrible coming out of defence & our transition game was pretty much non existent so I think that run out of defence will be emphasised during the week meaning that (hopefully) the back 6 will look to Macmillan more often. I'd like to see EVW come in for Hansen as well which could help free Macmillan up. I would watch him closely next round but i think he'll come good.

By sending Hibberd forward and Parfitt to the mids, I can trade J Smith for Hannan or Butler (or essentially any other rookie under $130k). No reason to do it this week, will see which is the best performed rookie over two weeks (with a guaranteed game for the third) and pull the trigger then.

MY TRADES:
Saint Nick and Smith OUT
Hannan and Laird IN

I badly want to rage-trade Hannebery :mad: out and bring Heppel in.

Then next week Hanners will score 130 while Heppel will get a modest 90 :rolleyes:

I can understand why some folks would've started with Tom Boyd given his price, DPP status and thinking that after that Grand Final performance that he's finally extracted the digit and will live up to expectations. Nothing has changed. He's still the million dollar below average ruckman getting bad rookie scores in SC. If I had him I'd definitely trade him out.

What are people's thoughts on:

Roughy --> WHE
Hanners --> Pendles

???

Knee-jerk rage-trades.

Hawthorn had a shit game and you can't expect Roughy to be getting scores over 100 just yet anyway.

I've also got Hanners and badly feel like rage-trading him but he's normally such a reliable premo-mid. He'll probably bounce back with a great score next week and you'll be kicking yourself.

Hold onto both. Get the rookies right first :thumbsu:

Hibberd otten and hampton are def all at risk. Rnd 2 donuts on order and not even the good ones.

Potential picture of Hibberd for this weekend found wrecking the joint.

1 game. He'll be fine.

He can't even bend over. He's doesn't look fine.

Will pick him up mid season though if he's fully fit. Seems very off.

Smith -> McGrath?
Florent -> Hannan?

Would just do straight swap for Smith to McGrath but am 25k short

What is McGrath's JS like?

I don't like to go early on a rookie, but i'd assume he's in the side to stay.

Leave's me a double next week if I need it.

For the first time ever I'm generally really happy with my side
I wanted to hold all trades until round 3 but I think I've made 2 mistakes
Should I make this trade???

Downgrade Hrovat to Hannan
Upgrade Grundy to Gawn

Next week once Hannan is named on Thursday.

J Smith:
Loop for a week,make an informed move next week
Keep as a mid-term loop (Melb draw ok-ish for that) and go Strnadicaptain >playing ruck rookie
Trade out and gamble on Hannan (e.g.) via DPP swings etc.
(...)
At least there's options

Scored 2304 this week with the stock standard rookies.

Going to hold out on trading this week until I see how the rookies go this week and then look at trading Smith out for one of Hannan, Butler or McGrath.

Anyone else looking at doing the same thing or should I just trade Smith now?

I want someone to inspire a little more confidence in me regarding McGrath's JS, but I don't think going early on him is a bad play.

Played really well against Hawks and I think will continue to keep his spot unless he has a few shockers. Has much better JS than that of Steward, Hibberd, Otten and Hampton IMO

I got caught out last year holding onto my trades till round 3 then I had a premium injured and 3 rookies I wanted to swap around with only 2 trades. I think holding onto Smith is risky especially if the defensive rookies all drop like flies in round 2-3

If he plays like that he will play 22 games, the only other defender that could take his spot is Dea but he plays taller. He is safe for a while.

SC aside, Boyd has always been worth every cent they will be paying him after the finals performance last year.
