Give the guy a break, has had a rotten run of luck with injury since coming to the club but done his all to get back out there including paying for his own trip to Munich this year. Has made it back to the VFL and been our best player two weeks in a row, he deserves a crack.
Give him a break and he paid for his own trip to Munich Please
15 games out of 81 at 800k a year StKilda have done more than enough for Hanners
Follow the club not Hannas be happy when he is off the list

Do you think he deliberately got injured? What does it matter how much money we've paid him?

Every time he has played for the club he has shown exactly why we picked him up, if he is fit and available now then why wouldn't we play him if we want to win?

Campbell is a ridiculous selection.
The ruck isn’t a major Hawks strength, weakened further with Reeves out.

Marshall clearly performs best as a stand alone first ruck. He needs to be challenged in the position and play on the edge.
We also need as much run as we can get.

That is Roma thrives and grows into the position.
That’s the main reason I’m hoping Ryder retires, as he’ll never be a back up ruck in the VFL yet he is stifling Marshall.
Ryder is far too good for, and shouldn’t have to play at the lower level but he is papering cracks & holding back Marshall’s Alpha potential.

I’m hoping they make a late change and bring in a runner, hopefully Owens, in for Campbell. A 5-7 minute chop out per quarter by a rotation of players is more than enough respite for Roma and allows him to take the ruck bull by the horns.

Marshall to defence?

Isn’t the club picking him as a player and not what he is earning? Again rather owens but it just shows how average our leadership is.

More hope of sinclair playing ruck.

He has played defence in the past and without Howard we might need some height. It would make some sense of bringing in Campbell.

Big Tom gets a game because there's no substitute for bulk deep forward or deep back, it's not about speed, and I reckon RoMa is carrying a little leg injury and although he rucked most of the WCE game, he probably can't hold up the ruck two weeks in a row and will need to rest in the forward half for some of the game.

We didn’t play against west coast so it makes no sense to play him against north. When has he played defence. I honestly don’t remember but what I do remember is players who are good in one position shouldn’t be played in another. Sharman is exactly what you should try. One struggling in one is tried in another.

We have lost 2 mid types through injury. Hannebery has been the best mid over the past 2 weeks at Sandy. He deserves to be selected off the back of that, especially when we are still in the finals race.

His contract is absolutely irrelevant when it comes to his selection this week.

I reckon his VFL form was good but not as good as made out. Josh Kennedy gets to VFL and is racking up 37 possessions and they say he'll struggle to break back in. His 2 games at the end of last season were pretty average games. Something like 19 and 21 possessions.

I just hope he is fit and ready for AFL
thought i read he has played 60 mins and 80 mins at Sandy so hasn't played a full game of VFL yet
seems desperate not even a full VFL game

Was still our best mid in those two games. Why should the better performed mid miss out in favour of players he outperformed?

I thought we were vulnerable down back last week.
We did at times with JJK but Wilkie got on top of him as the game went on. But one of the main reasons we couldn't capitalise on our first quarter dominance was our lack of a 2nd option beyond King. Maybe if we were able to capitalise on that dominance more, the impact of JJK and Darling wouldn't have mattered as much.

It just seems more likely we would bring in a 2nd ruck to add another forward target to go with the structure we have used most of the season rather than to have an additional tall down back.
