Well that was an uninspiring but satisfactory experience.

The highlights were reading the new soon-to-be overused term for the second half of 2022: CHADPORN (thx Gringo)

And this beauty which should be a dozen posters' signature:

"I was just trying to make you feel really average" (thx p66)

Not a fan of relying on that. Maybe the fact that it’s not come off so often is a sign that it’s unsustainable
Totally agree.

I've had a gut full of hearing about our pressure or at times lack of. According to every single commentator it's the key to our performance and the only way we can win.

We need more strings to our bow. Pressure is easy to apply against an opponent like today who play on and take a lot of risks with their ball movement. Against some teams who control the ball more it can be very different.

I feel like Prince Willian after a night with the Marchioness of Cholmondeley after that match. Pleased but won't be able to use a chair for a week.

Richmond won 3 premierships and are now rebuilding. We have been at it for 12 years and look no closer than they do. I know it's weird but I'd rather be in their position.
We took the Norf crash and burn route.
Getting rid of the likes of Dal Santo and Goddard ( McEvoy ) early didn't help us.

Being at the game the boys never gave up for one minute as desperate and hard at the ball I have seen in a long.
Hawks finished well in the last but we need to put sides away on score board when we can, Membrey missed a couple early and 1 - 5 in the last
We won with Owens - Windy -Sharman all with a handful of games
Paton was very good as was the back 6 for being so undersized
Don't think we play finals but would be good to have a couple more wins for the year

I obviously don’t rate them like you do. I was ecstatic at three quarter time.
That's fair enough, and you're probably right to think along those lines. Easier on the constitution.
Fortunately I'm off to Portugal next week for some much needed sun, so I'll be nicely chilled out for the likely train wreck that'll be next week's game.

Against good teams our “pressure” looks like piggy in the middle with us just running up and down the ground for no reward

I have no idea what this Chad crap is about, and it doesn't sound like its something i want to know about.
I guess if i googled the kind of expressions George googles, then i'd know.
You still blabbering on. Narre Warren Maccas must be quiet tonight. Go flip a few burgers till you clock off and then jump on Twitter. I know it's not a familiar platform for boomers but it's all there if you have a look.

Sharman looks a likely sort down back.
Definitely something about him.
Clark's first half was great.
King on track to kick 50 goals this year. Still so much to work on eg goal kicking and the balance of selfish and unselfish but let's not forget how impressive he is.
Sinclair is superb.
Wilkie enormous as usual.
Marshall in the ruck. That is our future. Destroyed McEvoy.
Owens is a very exciting young player.
Hanners showed why he was selected.
The misses from 20m out were shocking.
Looks like we'll be in the eight at the end of the round. The challenge now is to stay there.

I don’t care if it’s roughy or Rath how can anyone watch him kick like that and not say something. Blind Freddy can see he is not using any momentum from his run up. Then he kicks it next to the man on the mark. It’s like bowling in cricket with out a run up. All the coaches are complicit.

Just be thankful he's not a surgeon... "Meh, close enough".

I know we should have never been in this position in the first place…..but when the Hawks got it back to 2 goals, instead of freaking out we did a pretty good job of just slowing the game down and forcing stoppages.

We were able to halt the momentum when it looked very likely they could win (2 goals needed in 5+ mins to tie).
