Hickey and Stanley two "fringe" players traded, both of whom are still playing after many years. And both got better after they left us.

Both struggled in our side as ruckman who don’t win a lot of taps as our mids were ordinary, Cats and Swans were able to utilise their strengths whilst their strong midfields can hide their weakness.

Dunstan is a really good recent example of a player being traded to another club but essentially his career was over as he was bought into Melbourne as a break glass in emergency type. Very common.

All four players I mentioned appear to have reached their ceiling and will most like only ever be seen as fringe back up types.

Mason Wood reached his ceiling at North, a lot depends on the players mentality when they move as well as whether they were being played in positions that got the best out of them.

I watched the last quarter of the Freo Cats game.

Freo won in large part as they took great care to not kick high in the air near the Cats two intercepting defenders.

You watch that and you just wonder why our players keep doing the reverse.

Here's hoping that we do not feed Sicily gifts all day and instead kick where he is not.

Very surprised Owens got up considering what I saw at training, but there ya go, shows I know f**k all haha.

I reaaallly, really want us to play a little smarter. Try get the handballs outside of congestions rather to a teammate 1cm away with 3 blokes on him, and kick low at leads if possible (even a grubber kick would be better), rather than bomb it Sicily.

Even at training this was happening, up and under pressured kicks.

Fingers crossed for something different I suppose.

I'd like to think they are nervous about their careers at the club because they are very average players and have been getting games because of the list issues.

Robbie Young was payed out because he wasn't liked and they wanted him gone.
