Murdoch to have a great game tonight. He was a bit quiet last week which was fine since he was bound to have a dip in form after playing so consistently well for the last few weeks. He'll bounce back hard as a regular member of the senior team.

Jetta thought Murdoch was just right in the first half. :p

Think the Duncan loss isn't AS big as it was earlier in the year.

Mostly because since then Caddy has REALLY stepped up in a big way.

Then add Guthrie & Motlop pretty much having career best months & if they keep that up the midfield battle will be a closer one for sure!

Obviously harder without Duncan but just saying :)

Good point, Daniel. Even just the return of other injured players means the boys can at least work on their setups etc at training, which had been difficult for a while.

Can't see us coming close tonight at all unless Hawks are off their game due to a hard one last week plus travel. They look better on every line and will have our forwards contained, our mids covered and will match our backline. We should lose by a hefty margin.

It'll be known pretty early on which Cats show up tonight.
The mad cat - hard tackles, fast run, quick chains.

Or the one arm turnstile - slack tackles, plodding movement, letting Hawks run through them.

Those turnstiles can be bloody tricky to get through, Liger, if you've forgotten your entry card ;)

Well lets hope if the Geelong Turnstiles show up they are like the dodgy one that never works properly and there's no fat rail guy to swipe the Hawks through.

Be nice if we could be competitive, but I fear another belting, especially with no Duncan and Lonergan. Unlike opponents of the past month or so, Hawks will really be able to exploit our lack of a genuine ruck. On paper, the Geelong side doesn't really stack up. But I didn't think the Richmond side a few weeks ago did either, so guess we'll see. Avoiding a belting would be good for percentage and confidence.

Lonergan hasn't had a clear opponent v Hawthorn since Buddy left; he's been torched a couple of times by the smaller and quicker Gunston in the past two seasons. Means Rivers will have to play on the resting ruck which probably isn't ideal but I have full faith in Harry on Roughead. So who takes Gunston - Kolo?
