We torched them out of the middle, 18:3 in Centre Clearances.
We owned & outnumbered then through the corridor all game. Late in the 3rd (from memory), commentators mentioned that only 2% of their ball movement had been through the corridor.
We played 2x KPF + a 3rd Tall for the first time all year & it worked in all the ways it should have. Who could possibly have forseen this...?
Finn owned Naicos - like almost illegal.
Scrimshaw was effective as a makeshift key Defender, allowing Sicily to play free & he absolutely cleaned up.
Was probably won in the Coach's Box as much as it was on-field.

Just quietly. How good is our midfield?
Young, strong and deceptively quick.
The balance is just about right with some more class to come in over the next few seasons.

How good was it to have 3 talls forward, especially with Sticks deep, boy if he gains some bulk watch the fk out. Mitch more up the ground and Kosi as chop out, goal kicker and ruck. It was wonderful to see.

I think our tackling was spot on today.

Lewis seems to have gained a yard this year, looks better and better getting up the ground.
Sticks is a strange find, he is going to be an annoying matchup, that pickup from the punky cross should be illegal for a 2m player.
That Ryan kid goes ok
Wing is a specialist position. Amon knows where to run, always pops up in the right spots. So does Morrison. Ward is nearly there.
I don't know about you lot but I'm riding this victory harder than a MFer. Still it is time to head off to bed as I have to coach Auskick in the morning.

Kudos to Ned Reeves today. Competed strongly around the ground, marked well and dominated the centre. Really spiked the ball to our mids, rather than tapping it into a spot in hope, a few times he hit it so clean and fast our guys were caught by surprise.
After years of being smacked at stoppages, we had a glimpse at the future today. A touch more depth and experience, we are going to rocket up the ladder.

Newcombe, Worpel, Nash, Day all had more centre clearances than Collingwood but widows peak will still say it's a form of tanking
When the Pies had a run on in the second, we were not sticking the tackles. Once that straightened up as you say, there was no air space for the Pies.

I've had a fair night after the game but my one glaring takeaway was that our midfield made theirs look small, soft and slowwwwwww. They didn't want to take on the game through the guts as we were super organised and had them covered for leg speed. One of the better Hawthorn wins in my lifetime

We have lost probably 3-4 games this year we probably win with more experience i think we are way better placed than 12 months ago despite a few less wins all about the big picture.
There will be more bumps in the road ahead but Sammy is doing a great job so far,

Mate, just watch the highlights, has most of our goal. Marvel at them, especially the goals of Breusssst, Ryan, Lewis, Weddle, Harry etc. Look at Kosi's ruck work and follow on tackling to get De Goey. Reeves leap & mark.

After watching it live, I note that Breust is even better on television (if possible).
Also I don't think Huddo is aware of CMac. Didn't seem to know his name. Probably played a better game than you think.

Mitch Lewis is becoming one of my fav players ever. He’s so important to our structure and such a great team player. Sacrificed a bit of his game today to take Moore up the ground and has become really consistently good. Love the guy
