Chapman has to be under pressure. Guy is being beaten easily on the ground and in the air.
Hughes is miles better in that aspect. Sure his disposal suck. You know what you’re getting with him. Chapman has been awful lately

Chappy started the year really well but he's been such a liability of late. Could not half the contest to save his life, a ton of dropped marks.

The midfield got murdered today. Darcy in particular was made to look second-rate by Draper.

Unfortunately, we cannot win a flag this year. If we were serious about being flag contenders, you bury Essendon when you are 20 points up in the last.

Third youngest team this weekend. They were never going through the season undefeated. They played incredibly well in a few games, so expectations have become a bit unrealistic. We have Fyfe and Pearce to come back. The players are well aware they stuffed up, but they are our future.

They seriously crumble without a home crowd to help them over the line. Our road record this year is putrid really.

Wins against: 18th Richmond, 17th North, 14th Saints, and a shit Melbourne team. Sydney game we were lucky not to lose. We'll get absolutely destroyed by GWS in a couple weeks too.

I mean you can’t just discount our win against Sydney. Frankly our road form is okay, we’re are batting about .5 which is decent for most teams.

For a comparison, Essendon have won 2 of their 5 (holy shit 5!) games outside Melbourne

Hi All - can we be a little more mature here and stop calling our team (or at least, for many of the people on this board it is our team) a joke or pathetic / etc.? A team which is deserving of those kinds of title we are not; show some pride in yourselves, don't be joke supporters and your team please.

It is a tight competition; this was evidenced by good teams above us in the ladder got thrashed this weekend. We lost by a point and almost won the game, yes we lost out of the middle comprehensively (not for the first time) but we also did many things right. Essendon midfielders played out of their skins - we should acknowledge that they did and that they had the capacity to do so.

However out of all of that, we are still in the race to be in the 8, unlike some other teams, we have beaten some top teams, and gameplan and players are competitive. If you can't find that perspective at the moment, maybe walk away from the computer, because you are doing yourselves a disservice.

They were pretty pathetic today. Up 25 in the fourth and then let Essendon walk it out of the middle for five goals straight. That's as pathetic as it gets.

Pathetic. Giving up a 5 goal lead in the last 10 minutes is embarrassing.

I have always said we are dogshit when we can't win the center clearance. Darcy was pathetic. Jackson invisible.

Essendon being able to drop and throw the ball at will didn't help.

Not being able to stick tackles was pathetic. Stringer broke tackles at will and cost us at least a couple of goals.

Mids were ****ing useless. Bunch of 1 way running squibs. How many times did they win the clearance and have a player running forward with none of ours within 20m? Again. And Again. And a ****ing gain.,

Subbing Ras was a mistake. Should have taken off Emmett or Freddy who once again did the grand total of ** all. Just play Simpson and let him gain some experience if we are happy for our smalls to do ** all.

Drop Chappy. He is a liability and his disposal is a disgrace. He isn't even playing at F grade ammos level at the moment.

We can't get Moose back quick enough. He plays and we win that.

Unpopular opinion but Luke Ryan is the worst 1v1 defender in the league. Absolute potato. Amazing as a 3rd man up or intercept but he can't defend to save his life. He was always going to get killed by Stringer and he did.

When we are being killed on transition and the game is being played at a breakneck speed, why did nobody think of slowing the thing down and killing their momentum? There is a time and a place for slow methodical kick to kick football and there were numerous times throughout that game we should have done that.

Yep. I’ve been saying that for years about Ryan. Blueprint for clubs to nullify him.

Didn't turn up ready in the first as is our way.
Can't deal with close finish games - got lucky against the swans.

Annoying. Bombers are legit tripe. We lost by 1 playing at about 70%. They were up for the fight early and we kept them close enough to run off momentum on the last.

Set shot goal scoring was excellent. The inside 50s can be misleading but the center clearances were doing my head in. Was similar to the Dogs game where they just gambled EVERY center bounce and killed us.

No. I'll call out any effort I deem pathetic. This is their job. A job they are being paid hundreds of thousands a year to do. If they want to drink their own bathwater and put in shit efforts like many of them did then they can take the criticism.

But in saying that if the swans lose to Collingwood and Essendon we win our last 3.

We can play on the road, but we sure as hell can't finish on the road. Apart from the dogs game where we were never in it, we've completely choked in final quarters in our road losses.

I'm a Ras fan and was happy to see him start but I don't get the switch. Young was enormous, AB was good, I actually thought Serong was really flat first half. But Darcy was terrible today, and throwing Aish in at the death wasn't the play.
