What was he putting on? I just watched it again; all he did was look at the umpire and indicated that he was pushed. If Cloke's was 50 that was 50 too.

cloke's 50 happened while i was grabbing a beer so i won't comment on that but i remember jack rolling onto his back immediately rather than getting up to take his kick. it was even more obvious on the replay. like i said, it probably happens half a dozen times every round and is seldom a free kick unless there was real malice, intent or lateness in the shove.

How can it not be his fault? He is the coach, the buck stops with him. Its his job to sort the team out and have it performing regularly enough to win a Premiership.
Your right the buck stops with the coach but please do a review of the season to get a better understanding and even though the team lost early games they were still in the games till late in the final terms and often extremely bad kicking were the difference between winning and losing.

We have one scenario here with two different outcomes. Two teams have had a similar amount of injuries this year. One team has a coach who has dealt with injuries and kept winning (Freo), and we have another who has had the same amount of injuries, not dealt with it well and has lost more games than it should have (WCE). How is that not the coaches fault?
Of our 12 losses only 2 were against teams outside the top 8 Carlton and WB in rd 18 ,The Carlton loss the team kicked 23 behinds unbelievable right and the loss to WB wce lost Masten at Half-time on top of Nicnat ,Glass and Lecra missing from the previous week with Shuey,Kerr,Hurn still missing ..

If we have a deficiency in a certain area, its his job to identify it and fix it, or bring in people who can fix it. .
pace through the midfield was identified as a problem in 2012 thats why Wellingham ,Cripps were recuited .Well guess what Wellingham has a unfortunate accident on the eve of the season ..

He is responsible for the results of the team onfield, but unfortunately our club seems to give him a free pass to keep being coach despite a distinct lack of results, and him not backing up what he promised (ie win a premiership with this list).

WCE have only had two bad defeats geelong and magpies ..

The last two weeks have shown just how far away from the top teams we are. If we had brought in a heap of new players and were playing them to evaluate the list fully before the draft and we lost by the amounts we have lately, then people could understand, but instead we have dropped young guys in form to bring back injured players who break down straight away, play old guys that are on their last legs, and now that finals are well and truly shot we bring back guys who have been on the list for years and we know what they can do, instead of giving the young guys a chance. Its baffling.

nice post and you certainly raise a lot of good points my opinion of the team for the year is a fail mark ok but the team has not been belted all year until very late in the year against one of the premiership favorites Geelong and now Collingwood at the MCG .

Woosha has found a few players in Carter,Hutchings,Lycett,Wilson and we have seen improvement in Brown,Dalziell,Sheppard and Smith but also remember with with developing players they are hot and cold form wise ..

Errr..... Have we?

was bloody hilarious when Priddis sold two hand candies and it was like all in slow mo and then he ran into 30m out directly in front and missed it, gold!

I was there - front row opposite the MCC in the AFL members. Surrounded by Pies supporters mostly and being entertained by a very vocal (and drunk) bloke who looked like a bikie or something complaining about coming from Perth to see that performance by WCE. He even had the Pies supporters cracking him up.

A disappointing effort by the Eagles - all night we were 5m away from the guy we should have been glued to and gave too much uncontested possession. Priddis and Masten looked about the best out there.

Bring on 2014 already!

He didn't miss, he didn't even kick it, he was pulled up for running too far.
