İf Chad plays, the game shifts our way imo. To counter he, bruest and Jack seems a hard task for most backlines ATM. Don't worry too much about stoppage numbers as long as we move the ball quickly once we get the turnover and get it inside 50 to allow our frwds to out work/smart the oppo backs, then we're right in this!!

Jom has worked really hard over the summer on his kicking. Watching the game again for the 3rd time i can see the fruits of his labour. He had a really good kicking game especially kicking inside 50
He was good apart from the one across goal back to DGB. That was a shocker

Seems Wingard might be fit, so could just be Day for someone unlucky based on last weeks display.
Wingard has been bog average, so far. 2 goals a game with not much form shows how special he is. He looks proppy/injured or just out of form. Hope if they play him he doesn't break down. The guy can turn it on for a few minutes and change a game.

I hope he plays.

He is coming back from injury

Does any Carlton defender have the tank to contain Dylan Moore? I don't mean pace either. Saad or Williams would likely torch him on a quick rebound. We're just seeing this bloke consistently running in the top 5 for distance covered and repeat sprint efforts every week. I don't see a natural match up there unless Newman is a cardio freak.
I agree. This is the potential game-breaking matchup in our favour. Saad and Williams can't (won't) go with him over 4qs. If we can get the slingshot happening again, this bloke could have a field day working back into the vacated space.

Best of British guys & gals.

Will be interesting to see what Sammy has up his sleeve this week. We've belted the two best midfields in the game (albeit one of them in a practice match but at full strength) in the last month and I don't see Hawthorn competitive in the guts. And we won't be kicking the ball straight up in the air coming out like Port did. (OK Cripps might do that when he can't find a link man to dish to).

Going to be interesting. Not a game where either team is going to want to get their system challenged in the first half and allow the doubts between the ears to creep in.

Despite some of the opinions here I think we belt Hawthorn on paper, with lack of a credible second tall in defence being the major concern. Those who don't rate Durdin and Owies as both pressure and creative small forwards - watch this space.

Forget the paper, lets see what happens on the grass.

Don’t rate them? I’ve never even heard of them.

Agreed.
3 goal assists & 7 score involvements? He played well across HF & delivered effectively inside F50m, which has never been a strong point (at least with us).

Would be over the moon if he could maintain his effectiveness up forward (6 tackles, 3 goal assists with 7 score involvements) & increase to 6 clearances & 25+ possessions; neither of which are a stretch for him.

I have wanted him to rotate through half forward more for ages and it is great we now have some mid depth in the side to allow it. Could be a match winner for us there and it may just prove the way to keep him on the field more often if he is t getting the shit beat out of him in the guts full time every week.

Good to see my eyes noticed something accurately for a change.

I like Reeves and he's getting better. But the above shows there is still a need for McEvoy.

Pittonet isn't in the same class as Lycett, but we will need to take any advantage we can
Something I noticed was that Reeves got the tap most of the time but opposition player got the ball. So not sure whether it was the LACK of communication between the midfield group and not his tap work. Just my observation.

This might be contentious (come at me, brah!) but when Day, Bramble and Impey are all fit...Impey may be the one who faces the hardest task to get into the 22.
I agree, I thought Bramble looked better on the halfback than Impey. Day is a simple must and I don't see MacDonald or Ward being dropped on current production and same goes for Morrison.

Without any shadow of a doubt.

Presumably Maginness is first in the gun for Day/ Bramble, then I honestly don't know who goes out for the other one, I'd have said Morrisson but he's gone OK.

For Impey it would then have to be one of Hardwick, CJ, Scrimshaw, DGB, Nash, Duke, Ward, Mcdonald, Moore (assuming not Jom, Tom, Worpel, Breust, Wingard or a tall)making way...no thanks!

All he can do is understudy Hardwick, Scrimshaw and CJ and keep his fingers crossed.

I expect him to all over Pittonet this week. The best way to Cripps and co. out of the equation would be for him to use his height to belt the ball as far away from them as possible.

Impey would come in any day for Morrison imo.
Not if Morrison is playing good football, which he is. Impey is good but he's not a player like a Hodge that has the runs on the board to come immediately back in and replace whoever has been playing his role.

Fair. But feel he is a better player, can be more versatile and could do the role better. Morrison has been alright not great.
