It truly is bizarre!

"“It has been confirmed that I’ve got a small fracture in one of the lateral bones in my neck, but it’s all stable and safe."

There are no lateral bones in the neck, so I would guess he means a transverse process of one of the vertebrae, these are stable fractures wrt to the cord so would be consistent with the rest of his statement. These used to be a rare neck injuries in the days of plain Xrays, then CT scan came in and showed they were very common and trivial. I don't think there is any definite length of time before he can play, it gets judged on him being pain free, no neurological deficit, having full strength and range of motion.
Thanks 🙏

2 to 6 weeks for normal activities, but possibly a bit longer for contact sport. There are no hard and fast rules about timing. In another life, seemingly about 500 years ago, I worked in the spinal unit at the Austin, just to reassure you I'm not just making stuff up. Don't worry folks, Big boy will be fine.

I don't doubt you.. you used a lot of big words.

I'll be stunned if it's not Sicily next year to be honest.
Reading between the lines from what Frost said in a video today, I doubt it will be Sicily. At least the transcripts gave that impression.

Said he had some good attributes to be captain. But also a lot to work on.

Personally I just don’t know if he could be trusted to keep his composure.

And with every passing moment they're all getting older. We have an aging list!!

I read it as the opposite. It seemed like he was promoting the cause.

Interesting that we've looked at it differently.

I've never viewed O'Meara as captain material.

Time will tell obviously.

Day named on the wing. I wonder if he will spend any time in the midfield? With Maginness and Morrison playing in defence, at some point he will become a midfielder. It’s inevitable.
I'd say probably still lacks the tank for the midfield with his injuries over the last 12 months. Surety at some point though.
