Well...fu**.

Granted it will have been 14 days since he last played so he would meet the concussion guidelines. I wonder if there's any chance of him playing if medically cleared?

Nope, Sam Mitchell said in his presser this week that lynch did not meet the return critera for this week. Only become symptom free wednesday or thursday.

I think Sam will reward the boys for good form and have little change.

McEvoy out and Day in.... If another player were to come in maybe Callow, he has been rucking for boxhill and going well.

It truly is bizarre!

"“It has been confirmed that I’ve got a small fracture in one of the lateral bones in my neck, but it’s all stable and safe."

There are no lateral bones in the neck, so I would guess he means a transverse process of one of the vertebrae, these are stable fractures wrt to the cord so would be consistent with the rest of his statement. These used to be a rare neck injuries in the days of plain Xrays, then CT scan came in and showed they were very common and trivial. I don't think there is any definite length of time before he can play, it gets judged on him being pain free, no neurological deficit, having full strength and range of motion.
Just hope there are no long term complications post retirement for the bloke.

Only on the Hawks site, not AFL.

Maybe he's an "in" to the emergencies.

Still looks like a side with "late changes"

Shouldn't be if it's an isolated fracture of a transverse process, nearly always heal well. It's a stable fracture. Other fractures are much worse, as can be soft tissue injuries if they involve nerve root compression or disc herniation. If you had to break your neck, this is the one to do.

Disagree - Nash will pinch hit in the ruck where needed but Reeves can handle the lion's share of the ruck work.
It is a big out, and for the other games he'll miss too. Felt his leadership and work around the ground was really important against Port.

Yeah not happy seeing BB out - particularly when Lynch isn't back yet. Will be a golden opportunity for Lynch once he is right to go though.

Nash relief ruck.

Lewis to take F50 stoppages like Hawkins and Ben Brown?

Looking forward to seeing Lynch get an extended run at it after the untimely injury to Big Boy.
