Hinkley has plenty of “extra fat” to lose.

Sitting in the crowd, he doesn't. The supporter base absolutely hates him apart from a few holdout happy clappers who will hate him the second he's sacked by the club. The feeling of hate towards him is palpable. No supporter likes him. I've never seen anything like it at AFL level.

Loosing my faith in Houston less than a minute to go and kicks to a contest on the wing… signed for 5 years of that dumb shit plus 0 tackles last week says a lot.
Wtf? Quite literally every player in the AFL would have done that exact same thing in that situation. What would you have had him do instead?

I hope you ate right. But I fear that there’s only one opinion that matters.

We will be 0-8 - ie play Dees at AO in 6 days time, then Carlton at the MCG, then WCE at AO where we are 0-5 and they will have recovered from the covid issues, St Kilda at Docklands and then the Bulldogs at AO.

Rd 9 we play North at Docklands and Hinkley matches Brad Scott on 211 games and no grand final appearance the most at 1 club.

Will the club let Hinkley get into the record books?? All by himself or share the honour?

I hate Hinkley but I want to win. It’s ****ed where I am at right now. I feel Hinkley is gone at seasons end regardless so some wins would be flipping nice. Losing to the crows after the siren from that tosser that chose them over us, what a fantastic script. It won’t get Hinkley sacked any quicker though, but it will ensure our next coach now has at least 3 years to turn us around like nicks has at crows.

What a mess.

Didn't even know the game was on tonight until it was over

50 years, followed every single game for 40 seasons

this week i didn't even look to see when it was on. Or team selections.

Completley and absolutely in IDGAF land. I found out the game had happened when my brothers messaged in WhattsApp that ken had failed again.

20 plus memberships in our family 2 years ago. I haven't bothered to ask how many this season. i doubt it's 10

my kids even take out a Victorian aflteam as their nominated team for their AFL memberships now.

The club is a nothing franchise. we're everything we mocked the crows and gold coast for being.

glad we lost. may the tide keep going out

other than 1 flag we have shat every single bed we slept in

if Fraser gehrig didn't kick his hundredth against us in that 2004 semi we would not have won that.

I picked the wrong team. I really did

Thing is, we are getting to a point where Koch and Richardson basically can't show their faces if Hinkley is still coach. Thats why its important to lose as many games as possible and keep that pressure on till he goes.

They will basically have to decide between keeping Hinkley or being able to attend the AGM, lol.

Okay I don't want to be that guy

But how is it that Hawthorn kicked 14.0 on set shots and Adelaide kicked 13.3?

Like isn't the law of averages supposed to be a thing?
Hawthorn kicked a few out of their arse but they kicked a lot from in or near the goals square.

How many did Adelaide kick, from in or near the goal square and from straight in front. Reckon Gollant kicked 3 from inside or near the goal square.

You know when you're having a really bad day and everything that could go wrong does go wrong and it seems like the universe is just conspiring against you for some unknown reason?

That's Port at the moment. They kick them because of course they kick them.

Remember the Gold Coast Trial Game matchday thread a little over a month ago?

When that soft, shambolic, wasteful, incoherent, red flag laden ‘performance’ was swept under the rug to the usual refrains and denialisms that greet Port looking like a stray twat that’s fallen behind the fridge in a Coober Pedy dugout in the pre-and-early season?

I mean, all the foreshadowing was there, but holy moley.

Almost as if having a structure and leading patterns to put the ball in dangerous scoring positions results in easier shots on goal and better scoring efficiency.

The players are cooked. He's cooked them, half of them don't even know what to do half the time, and it is only their inherent skills that kept Adelaide at bay for most of the game. Yeah Ok, we have some key outs, but the core playing group we had on the ground should have been enough to beat them hands down, but there is no flow. He's lost so many assistant coaches over the years that the ideas cabinet is empty, it's going to be a long long season...
