a lot of them haven't played a game and have ? on them
I think this tells the tale of where we're at in the rebuild. The midfield lacks a bit of experience too

Shiel is 29
Stringer 27/28 and part time in there
Parish and Merrett entering their peak years.
Then it's kids

Kinda helps set expectations that we're a team still 2 years off making an impact imo.

Francis isn’t a KPP. He’s a medium. Bringing Phillips in is exactly what he needed to get the mismatch.

His bench mark should be compete first, 5-7 marks, 2-3 goals or assists combined. He did that last week. We are far too concerned with what he isn’t than what he is.
Agree but still don't like Francis being dropped. He's game 2 into being a full time forward.

with McDonald, Brown and a resting ruck (plus fritsch can play taller than he is), Francis back into defence makes a lot of sense this week
And Heppell up on the ball

Sure its annoying they aren't all playing and dominating.

But we have 7 on the list under 22. Not exactly lacking.
Young KPP's take time, see how Reid and Cox settle as their bodies mature given it's not uncommon for these ultra-tall guys to have issues early on as their bodies aren't finished growing.

Bryan is very young for a ruckman still, I'd expect him to start to push for a spot by the end of this season though. Draper is also very young for a ruckman.

Baldwin, Eyre and Brand were all late selections so if 1 of them make it we'll be doing well.

Jones the most frustrating at the moment because we can all see his talent, just needs a clear run at it.
I think the big issue is once Daniher left we had Hooker (retiring) and Wright as the experienced tall forwards.
Also Stewart, but Essington will always prevail (forward battling as a defender, defender dropped for form as a forward)

Wonder if we missed a trick not playing Wright + Phillips + Francis.
Latter two surely causes some level of confusion in the Dees backline

Confidence for this one is around 0%.
Hoping that Martin can continue on from where he left off, that Wanganeen can look like he belongs and that Perkins keeps looking the goods.

Overall hopefully we can keep it the right side of 8 goals (ideally within 4 for most of the game), limit their ability to get a run of goals, be a lot cleaner with our disposal and decision making, and maintain forward-50 pressure over 4 qtrs

Geelong were 2-3 by Round 5 in 2007.

We may lose this, but if we win our next 2, then there's no reason that we can't pick up and go from there and maybe sneak into finals.

But if we win this... oh boy

lol

gelongs 2007 team absolutely shits on ours.

whilst the math works out there is much more behind it than just math's.

Weideman and Brown are not particularly similar. Reckon the matchups would change? eth-dog?
Probably. Stewart will probably go to Jackson (I was 50/50 between him and Brown), Laverde to McDonald (same) and maybe Ridley to Weideman now.

Oh hey, Martin's back!
