Should I go Ablett>Bont or Ablett>JPK/Sloane. JPK or Sloane is a like for like swap who will bang out consistent 120s but Bont is heavily under valued and could get him 150k cheaper then what he will be come the bye rounds, and he could be a must have by end of the year. Bont would be in my midfield but would swap him to my forward line in a few weeks. thoughts?

I was firmly in the "GET BONT NOW!" camp, but I've changed my tune.
If I'm trading GAJ out, I'm gonna need a near guarantee point haul in return.

If I were you, I'd get in JPK or Sloane. Pick whoever fits your bye structure better, or whoever you like better as a player. Both will score highly, so don't worry about who will score higher.

Bont is under an injury cloud too, and is vs. Hawthorn. I don't normally subscribe to the theory of "score better against poor teams", but I think on this occasion, Hawthorn won't let him off the chain here.

Bont is fast becoming a must have - but what happens if he scores 80 this week, and you watch JPK and Sloane go 130+?

Cash saved vs. Points scored.......

GAJ -> NVB for $$$
Lamb -> Bont because Bont

Lamb's not in a 25-man squad so I'm cutting him. Touk-touk gets a reprieve because he's named and not going backwards. Goodes next in the gun unless he extracts the digit. Don't care whether he plays this week or not, now.

Hawthorn dont tend to tag though, they just back their midfield to win H2H battles, and what is his injury cloud?

Hmmm. Given B. Goodes is named this week (albeit on an extended bench), would it be wiser for me to trade out Jaksch for Oxley instead of B. Goodes for Oxley?

Both at nearly exactly the same value, both likely to produce similar output, Jaksch is injured while B. Goodes is not.

Maybe just admit fault on my initial inclusion of Jaksch, give him the boot for Oxley and keep B. Goodes as D7? Thoughts?

80 for a down week from a forward is fine, when he's shown a clear capability to smash out 130+. Especially one who'll still go up by shedloads.

Keeping Cripps now. But do burn that trade for Miller > NVB for that big cash grab?
Already gone Ablett to JPK and have every other rookie
Remember that Miller to NVB will cost you just a tad under $100k so factor that in. What NVB does give you though is a solid scoring option which Miller does not look like he will provide. If you're playing with a Heeney/Miller/Anderson type at m8, NVB could net more points per game for you over the next few weeks over the other options which is also important to consider.

Apparently he only trained lightly as he had a tight calf? timtamWB or GOAUS! could confirm this.

Bont's tackling and contested possession ability will still see him score well, but I question his ability to back up another 120 against the reigning premiers after an interrupted week. I could be wrong, but that's the beauty of the game.

Good luck with your choice, but I just need to get a super-premo in for GAJ.

True, and that's firmly in my mind. But I'm ranked around 13k, and can't take any risks.

My choice is Fyfe or Bonts, and I've taken the more expensive, but less risky option.

Can't take risks because this is a good ranking or...?

Risks are awesome! They sometimes work out and you can gloat about them. Sometimes they blow up in your face and you can come to BigFooty and post about how unlucky you were for years.

Yeah this is probably a reason why I'm bringing in NvB along with his cash generation potential.

Sorry, but 13k is not acceptable for me! I take this way too seriously! :D

I'm in a few cash leagues, and another with mates that is big on bragging rights.
Risks are great if you're just having fun, but I want to win my leagues.

Having said that, I will let my guard down later in the year if I am off the pace.

I've got $513K to play with and am looking for a forward. Was thinking either Tex or Jack Ziebell. Wondering who you guys think will be good over the next few weeks.

IMO, neither of those!

Do you have Swan and Bontempelli?

Considering Krakouer has been upgraded and named this week, I almost feel forced into a Cripps -> NVB trade.

NVB seems like the best candidate to be traded out in 2 weeks time in order to jump on the Krakouer wagon.

Yup the upside to having NVB over Miller is miles ahead. Fingers crossed Cripps reaches at least 90s

Word on the board is that it's just a corky, but he does have strapping on his calf. He's apparently missed the last 2 training sessions. Been named to play, you would think they wouldn't be risking a calf injury with him though.

In any case make sure you have a good forward emergency. I reckon he'll play.

Ok. So with the teams I'll be looking at
Goodes ----> Laird/Savage
And either hold Cripps or do Cripps--> NVB

Who's thinking of holding Cripps?

Who's the pick of the back mid pricers? I'm thinking Laird as Savage has been known to play that forward defensive role from time to time.

Thoughts?

If you have an m6 to m8 of CEY, Vandenberg and Cripps you could even forego a Miller to NVB trade and keep the $100k for a proper upgrade in the coming weeks. If Cripps produces some of his pre-season form then that's three high scoring mid rookies starting for you plus keeping the $100k and a trade in hand.

I was thinking of holding Cripps, but now that Krakouer has been named, I feel as though Van Berlo is the closest rookie priced player to being at a decent enough price to cash in and pick up Krakouer in a couple weeks time.
