Is it too silly of me to go Barlow - JJ; Rocky - Papley? Really want JJ, and need Papley...Unsure if leaving 500k unspent for a week is wrong or not.
Not silly imo. Papley is a must, and if you think JJ is a must as well I'd pull the trigger right away. You may lose some points, but the cash you generate can help you regain those points later down the track.

Gone with the standard trades ATM:
1. Gresham -> Papley (via Menadue)
2. Rocky -> Parker

Still have issues tho with Gov & SGray not yet performing as I'd hoped, and no BenKen.
But thankfully I avoided the early season Barlow shitstorm.

Options for trade 2 are RGray/Parker/BenKen. Any advice on who to choose?
RGray & Parker have good fixtures, so leaning towards one of them.

It genuinely staggers me that there are heaps of people still wondering if Ben Kennedy needs to be in your team or not.

If he was a first year player with those two scores everybody would be all over him.

The fact that he isn't a first year player provides a plethora of further reasons why you should have him, but all people seem to see is the prior record of low scores and inconsistent selection.

Forget his past. Apart from the preseasons, don't forget them. Forget the scores he got while wearing green and orange vests because that can't happen to him anymore and it wouldn't if it could. He's best 22 at the Dees and he's in great form.

If I was choosing between Papley and BenKen this week, which I wouldn't be because I'd be having both, if I was having only one, it would be an absolute no brainer. And it wouldn't be the guy who could be rested in a week or two. It'd be the guy who could possibly turn out to be a keeper, or at the least one of the last guys you upgrade

Current line up as below, possibly thinking of

Barlow>Johannisen (via McD-T)
and/or
Rockliff>Parker

Would also make me $99k

Think I've done pretty well with rookies, and just playing for league wins. Not sure if it is worth trading at all, or if I should just hold out and hope Barlow/Rocky come good.

Anyone care to offer feedback?

I'm doing the exact same trades but that's because I want as high an overall finish as possible. Barlow looks a shadow of the main I selected and Rocky is slow and injured. Obviously we're not expecting Parker and JJ to continue, but I'm pretty confident in a 105+ and 95+ averages respectively.

Barlow out Papley in is easy. Then would it be wise to off De Goey for Hall? Or De Goey for Papley Barlow for JJ (via Adams)? Or Barlow for Papley and Sheridan for JJ? Should I be giving up on either De Goey or Sheridan already? Both had solid week 1s. Who is more must-have out of Hall and JJ? Should I get neither and just off Barlow for Papley to have ~550k in the kitty litter? Or Lincoln McCarthy for Papley Barlow for Hall/JJ? Should I hold McCarthy?

Contemplating this trade also. Got lucky and selected every promising rookie (cash wise) thus far. The Rockliff trade is a no brainer but with Barlow I keep telling myself, "its not what they have scored, but their output from here on". I honestly see Barlow and JJ having similar scores from here on. Gotta love supercoach!

I have 100k left over for corrections. I missed Libba and want him before the price rise.
Thinking of going Rocky to Libba
And then either Gresham or Dunkley to Zaharakis with the cash left over.
Good idea? And which rookie should I dump?

I'm keeping Barlow for at least another week. I have to get Howe out of my backline so I downgraded Dahlhaus to Hall and upgraded Howe to Johannisen. Already have Libba, Adams and Dunkley and another Bulldog would be too many.

Not silly at all. You will need cash for your 1st few upgrades soon and this way you will have enough $$ to be able to make 2 upgrade trades in a single round instead of 1 up 1 down if you like.

McCarthy will make money so keep him. Trading one rookie for a slightly better one is risky and a waste. De Goey to Papley would make more sense if you want to keep Barlow. Out of those options I would go Barlow to Papley and De Goey to Hall, mainly because I think Sheridan has a higher ceiling than De Goey.

If it's a North two weeks could be 8 months
Rodney 'Blackmore's Injury Update' Eade likes this post. Seemed to lie through his teeth and didn't even blush in those when he was with the pies.

Have a very bad feeling about jumping on Bomber plays like Zaharakis and Merrit...... How confident are you in thinking they will keep it up all year ??
