I wish along with hearing the word speed all preseason we could have heard the terms accurate disposals. Our skills go backwards and we bring blokes in like Bonner who doesn't actually improve our ball usage.

The one ground where you'd play a pure tap ruckman and you don't. A ground where they aren't going to get exposed. Where as a non tap ruckman doesn't get the space to use his advantage. RoMa 2nd ruck/fwd today would have been a bold(ish) "horses for courses" selection but we went as soft at selection as the players have been today.

The reality is we are a poor side atm. Sides now have a litany of tape on us as compared to last year. Richmond have been fantastic defensively and have really pressed us and completely stopped our flow. We then don’t have the calibre of talent that can help us overcome these issues and get away with it (e.g. GWS today against GC).

Let’s try this, have been asking this since the Richo/Ratten days, how about we try to play football properly..

On defence, man up one-on-one, everyone just beat your man.. simple..

On offence, take 3 seconds only to move the ball on, everyone has to kick to a lead, short or long.. no long bombs allowed..

On handball, cannot handball to anyone stationary

This will get rid of lots of dumb running for no reason and long bombs.. If we make mistakes, so be it, at least you know who can football and who can’t.

All those hard running to create free man then manic tackling/pressing just tire everyone out and is not sustainable.. hence so much injuries and suspensions as well.

Ross get a grip, stop taking short cuts and actually get the team to play a sustainable and attractive game style, base on skills and contested footy, hard work is a given, not the only ingredient.
