Totally agree with you about Owens , having Crouch , Windhager , Dow currently out I thought today would be the day they let him have a crack.

Anyway I fully expect Hayes to eventually get back into the side to play the forward / ruck role causing Owens to get a crack in the midfield.

Can't wait for Dow and Hayes to come back into our team. Hayes is the missing piece up forward and Dow will tidy us up around stoppages big time.

And I think Owens might have been severely overrated at this stage of his development. He's struggling big time and is not the answer to our midfield issue, well not at this stage anyway.

Playing as a half forward who thrown into the ruck is not really helping his development - he has that get ball , win ball mentality and should be given a good crack in the middle.
The game today was won once our mediocre midfield starting winning the ball.
He has the body strength to take his game to the next level playing as a mid.

We need another pressure forward, we're way too big down forward at the moment. The ball is coming straight back out. Thought today was the perfect day to put Owens into the midfield, especially after the first quarter where we got smashed from stoppage and smashed in contested ball, his talent is wasted as a 3rd knock forward.

We should make a play for Maurice Rioli Jnr, he laid a couple of impressive tackles today and kicked a couple of great goals as well.

It wouldn't seem right if we recruited him though, it would be like Richmond recruiting Nicky Winmar Jnr, MRJ belongs at Richmond.

Dow has never played a game for us.
I don't know why people have such high expectations of him.

When we came back he was splitting packs. He doesnt take the ball but he causes chaos which gives us a 50 50 chance.

Hayes is not really commented on because he has hardly played many games of AFL(6 games in 2 yrs) but if he can get back on the park he is going to cause problems to a lot of teams.
He can take a contested mark and can't get moved off the ball easy.

He’s still probably better as an inside ball winner than most of who we have. Especially with Crouch out.

For sure he makes his presence felt but the guy is a contested beast and I really feel he would be better than Seb Ross in the midfield , even though Ross has been playing good but long term I really feel Owens is the answer.

Sharman is attempting to fill in for Wood , to me Sharman is just filling gaps in the team and really needs to be given a role with out being thrown from the forward line to the wing and then to defense.
