Obviously he has ended up a good scorer early days. Point out where I said he wasn’t scoring well?

It’s just the w*er talk of “oh everyone is sheep so no one considered these other players”. Obviously no one considered Buckley for the reasons I mentioned. It would have been ridiculous to start Buckley when he wasn’t even named. Not because people are “sheep”. It’s just inane hindsight talk that is ***** useless and stinks of people acting high and mighty over the “sheep” masses. May as well say why didn’t people consider Brockman to start with, 89 as a 123k rookie, didn’t you start him?!

Just the 2 trades this week

Chesser > JVR
DC > Grundy

Would like to hold a boost if I can, let the rookies moo a little more and then consider my options.

Only way to English was via Horney or Bowes and want to give them some more time, so happy to ride the Grundy wagon for a little longer and reconsider later.

Would also really like Rowston (GWS) rookie, but he's a touch expensive and not sure how to get there.

Will be looking at Brocky, Hewett, Arthur Jones next week, not sure if Will Philips is worth it either with Simp and LDU back.

Thoughts ?

Like it from an on-field points perspective, don't love it overall as you're trading in two guys that are probably going to be just below the keeper threshold.

I'd probably prefer doing English and Buckley if I was going down that path – one definite keeper (pending staying healthy), and a guy that's gonna be safe on-field and make some decent cash.

That being said, I don't think it's really worth trading Greene. He's gonna play every week and there'll be a spike score in there eventually

Don't think you need to go early on Chesser to JVR (unless you need that 9k for English?). Wait until he's on the bubble just in case of injury etc. Don't want to sideways a basement-priced rook for another and then have to do the same again if it doesn't work out.

That way, you can also have another week to pick between JVR and Kent Brockman

Going to hold Chesser and Constable for one more week and hope a better option comes up for them

I have 300k to go Callaghan straight to LDU. Should I spend the trade on it, or downgrade to a Phillips/Rowston or just hold? LDU would give me 5 mid premos (Touk, Bont, Jelly, LDU, Green), but I still only have 2 defensive premos in Doc and Daicos. I can't get to a Stewart/Sicily/Dawson without a boost.

I’d do it assuming you don’t have other issues like Cameron to fix.

Is Will Day not the same? Going to have some good cash rises over the next few weeks and seems to have confirmed midfield role by SM?

Realistically, he'll make less cash than Buckley, and it allows ABD to get English (likely top scoring ruck) instead of Grundy, who'll need to be traded back out in four weeks or so

Sorry, meant to type Grundy, not English.

In that case, fair enough haha. JVR is locked into our team for a while pending injury I think, and doesn't just need goals to score – high tackle numbers, contested grabs and a few hitouts here and there. He'll be a good pick, and Melbourne has a nice draw

I agree with all of your points and normally I wouldn't go down this path but with extra trades this is one of the options. I'm ranked 21,000 or so and need a decent score to climb my way back up. Unerperforming premo's have done the damage in the first 3 rounds but I will hold them and hope they come good.
I think Grundy will score well over the next few weeks with No Gawn and has the Round 14 bye which suits my team.

I want Day back in and Gulden hasn’t done anything wrong but I have so many high ownership players that I want to change it up a bit and he’s the best choice to go. Day plays mainly mid so I’ll get the DPP flexibility with him and in a few weeks and see him as a keeper. I play for leagues not overall and it’s boring as hell when there’s hardly any uniques on each team.

Get the logic with the upcoming run, but it just seems to have more downside than upside potential to jump on a bloke at supermax price.

Love seeing kents blow up their teams to get Oliver. He's the best mid and I messed up not starting him, but trading in a $700k player is rarely a good idea. They'll get Piggy, but at the cost of their later upgrades.

I was stupid and held Chesser and Flanders. I was even more stupid (and stubborn) and didn't get in Chandler.

Probably going to go Chesser -> Phillips. Not really sure about the Flanders trade.

JVR is an okay rookie option, fairly unsure about JS though (although the same could be said about Phillips). I'm even semi considering bringing in Chandler, but would be worried about how Pickett coming back could impact his scoring.
