Your team is fine. It's similar to mine and I'm around 2k.

My thoughts is that if people want to make up rankings, don't trade in high ownership players, there's not much of a point as you're not making up any ground.

Keeping your team as it is will work out well in the long run, if you can hold off rage trading. Just need to be a bit smarter than the rest with any trade ins.

Setting yourself up for upgrade season will help you make up places. Just make sure not to miss any must have rookies who are destined to go up >100k in two weeks (e.g. chandler).

For now, hold. No trades is good trades. You will be thanking yourself down the track.
On that basis, would Callaghan-Chandler be a worthwhile move?

You need money, not points. Teams are too similar at the moment, you want cash to upgrade when others cant.

Chandler boat is gone in my opinion. Jumping on now is so risky, as you are putting yourself behind the rest who already have him by not having a point of difference.

Take a risk on someone like Amartey if anything. He looked electric. Buckley to some extent too. If they were rookie priced and not in the 200k range I would be all over them.

Otherwise going early on a JVR or Brock can help get a leg up on the rest by having that one extra trade up your sleeve next week for any other carnage that comes our way.

Same except via Long. Not sure what I’ll do if JvR and Brockman both look like must haves.
Think a couple want to grab Van Rooyen early for that reason, but it's a risk.whichever way you play it.

Is Marshall to Grundy a waste?

I would think so. Marshall is one of the few sole rucks with some scoring history behind him. Grundy is similar but only for about a month until Gawn returns, when you'll likely have to trade him again. 2 trades for no obvious gain in my (possibly wrong) opinion

Have avoided the trade thread all week after my disaster trades last week...

Went Macrae (112) to LDU (DNP, covered by a rookie 50 odd). LDU was also captain, leaving me to cop Bont as VC (who got 10 coaches votes and was clear BOG but scored 89).

Other trade was Darcy (132) to Cameron (89 and long term injury).

This was after posting a detailed analysis that showed Darcy got the odd low score amongst his solid average (thanks to big games), his scoring is not hampered by ruck sharing and knowing he would bounce back against Bailey Williams. Thinking was, Cameron was value, will go up in price and can be shifted to forwards after Gawn's price comes right down from his 0.

Anyway, I've pulled the trigger on Darcy to English (still considering Witts to avoid injury risk and yoyo scores).

This leaves me 1 problem player on my team: Ben Cunnington (who despite his pedigree, still couldn't pump out a good score against the Hawks mids with LDU and Simpkin out).

Trouble is, the English trade has meant I only have $495K to spend and no one is exciting me in that price range as it is sub-premium range and all the mid pricers have already had their biggest price rise:

Who do we think will be a genuine keeper?

Gulden?
Ziebell?
Actually, thanks to the magic of DPP, can pick others from that price range in other lines..
Day?
DeGoey about 1K to expensive

You’re a great addition to this board.

Aside from those, Will Phillips is the other option (assuming you have 20-25K in the bank)
Theoretically Bytel if named, but he hasn’t exactly been at the head of the queue to date. Chance to come back in, though.

Is Marshall to Grundy a waste?
Wouldn’t do that, think Grundy really only makes any sense if you can’t find a way from Cameron to English / Witts you like.
He could be in need of being traded back out in a month or so, worst case scenario.

Cameron to any ruck I want - Grundy should get some decent scores over the next 3-4 weeks, but will likely need to be traded once Max returns.

I sorely needed to get Cowan/Wilmot away from D6, and even after a price rise, $400k is a good deal for Will Day. Good CBA%, great DE%, and passed the eye test. Rats goes to Day via some DPP wizadry with Phillipou and Chesser.

Still have $145k after these trades. I could still use it....

Which option should I take?
1. Use the cash take English over Grundy? $38k bank
2. Save the cash for in my "piggy bank" (saving for Clarry)? $145k bank

I've been set on English all week, but with Setters out might take Grundy so Setters can go to LDU

Just like stevebbb and Petrify , I'm considering playing very light down back so I can enjoy Olliepig in my team once again.
I also have Ziegull and Sheezgull chilling up FWD, ready to move back in a few weeks.

What do you all think of this boost?

Setters out? Where did you see/hear this?

I can't see anything in the injury report.

Sorry have to ask. Who dafaq is Scoopsroy?
There was once a young chap, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, the SC world was his oyster.
One fateful day, he picked the most shithouse starting side in SC history.
The other SCers were too kind to mock him for his ineptitude, such was their sadness at his downward spiral. They turned their heads in shamed silence whenever he walked by.
He had become the Finn Callaghan of SuperCoach, had nothing to offer the others, they had moved on to a brave new world of ‘fading’, ‘sugar hits’ and ‘upgrade cadences’.
It was then that he opened up his news app and saw that the Dees had announced two new debutants, Judd McVee and Kade Chandler, aka Chindler’s List.
If he couldn’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag, this young man could at least help those who know their arse from a hole in the ground by providing the latest news, hot off the press.
It was that day that the legend of Scoopsroy was born, and that young fella is said to be a dead ringer for baby Daics, a tyro by the name of Gutsroy.
Scoopsroy is at peace with his shitness and enjoys his new role as the purple headed warrior of the SC space.
Those who can, do, those who can’t, write about it. Those who can't even do that call themselves Scoopsroy.
Scoopsroy believes strongly that the Melbourne Cup should be shifted to Doomben and agrees that the showdown should be shifted to the MCG, its natural home.
And having written all this while waiting for a ****ing simple database update script to run, the bastard is throwing up an impossible error. Scoopsroy’s work is never done 🥲

It's a tough one. At first glance it looks good. My concern is over Buckley. He is essentially a rookie KPP who we're paying 275k for. Only need to look at Cox to see what KPP scoring can be like.

Low possession high SC scores are a red flag to me. It might seem amazing at first, but I don't believe they can keep it up.

But in this instance, I like these trades. You are culling two dead rooks and Worpel for 3 good rookies who will all generate good cash and score good points. Good trades.

Good stuff. Good luck.
Thanks man. What do we think of Cole's role in the backline? He's the other one I've tossed around.

Or do we just accept that our backlines are trash until DPP and generate cash elsewhere?

Who would people prioritise - Chandler or Van Rooyen? I don't like the bubble options available and that 90 will stay with Chandler for a while, plus easy opposition coming up...
