Fairplay to Levi Secco Brando and Rat
They’ve done their bit shielding guys like Rowell Anderson Powell King Luko on their way up but they’re not premiership grade
I feel the same way about Budders but I know there are some who rate him
He might go back, work on his stuff and come back hard
That’s what selection depth does
You could atgue Uhwland hasn’t set the world on fire either but right now he has way more upside
We are actually in a mini rebuild which I don’t mind
We have the core group
We need Dimmas final 20%
This is what we are seeing the beginnings of tomorrow
More excited than I’ve been in a while

Funny way to describe it when we're 2-1 and in 9th spot but I know what you mean. Maybe a more accurate way to describe it would be a reshaping of our best 22. Guys like Ellis have been automatic best 22 selections in years goneby but you get the feeling that won't be the case moving forward from here and players like Brando will really have to earn it if they are to get back in the team. Dimma seems unapologetically committed to playing our youth (that includes Uwland) and obviously feels we're going to be better for the run by playing them now. Exciting times when you know you're watching the other 20% making their debut tomorrow.

Hope we keep leaning into this. Let’s ironically make it a marquee game.

Need an actual cup and medal

Hardwick has had a clear out, pretty much the weakest players on every line so far have been dropped. By my measure they were the lowest rated players after 3 games. And three new lads will make debuts in their stead. It seems Hardwick wanted to give his more experienced lineup a chance to prove they still belonged over the first three rounds, and the bye has given him a chance to make the adjustments he wants. He has sent a clear message to the likes of Ellis, Casboult, Long, Sexton and Atkins who haven’t impressed so far, that there are talented players waiting in the wings who could keep them out of the team for good.

there will be plenty of teething problems and to beat GWS on Sunday would involve winning some sort of tactical lottery. But I respect Hardwick for going all out with the changes. The only way to know if these guys can play is to give them minutes. We were never going to be favourites against GWS too so why not see if something interesting can happen. It’s also another debut game at a smaller interstate ground without the crowd pressure of a home game or a big away day.

Sweet, can’t wait for the reveal.

And weirdly, I’ve had a suns title belt design in my camera roll for months, just waiting to win the powerball to get it made professionally.

You have? This I gotta see

Only thing I'd like to see more is a Suns win*

*of course there are other things i'd like to see more but they aren't PG

No mini-rebuild for me. I hold Dimma to his word - 'Finals is a baseline' :) We will not attract anyone if we don't play finals.

Like most Suns fans I am excited about watching our talented debutants. How will they go? Where will they play? On a positive side, they replace players who did not show too much. On negative side, it's their debut and we play a great team. No VFL game last week did not help.

We do appear too tall.

For me, in defence Collins, Ballard, Andrew match well on Hogan, Riccardi and Cadman. The smalls Greene, Bedford, Daniel and Brown worry me.

Can we slow down and disrupt GWS run/movement?

Can midfield stand up after WB taking hold of them? Can we limit spread by GWS.

My expected loss emotions
50 expected
< 50 OK
< 30 happy
< 20 excited about future

In case of win I will go crazy.

We got to be more desperate, show more pressure than GWS and play roles in a good plan. Hopefully, GWS players will take it a bit easy after 3 wins.

Campbell Brown handing out the debutants guernsey’s is certainly a choice.

Is this the most amount of academy graduates we've ever played in a single game? By my count we've got 5 - Jed Walter, Ethan Read, Will Graham, Bodhi Uwland & Malcolm Rosas. 6 if you want to include Clohesy.

2 things I would love to see today (but not optimistic).
  • The midfield play up to their level and not roll over easy. I know statistically we are a good clearance team, but if we are just going to bomb it out of the middle into our forward line, we will just be playing into the Giants’ hands and they will kill us with their intercept and rebound. The big 4 need to be smart with the ball and have a bit of composure today.
  • King to take charge of the forward line. It is definitely his 50 now with young Walter/Read/Rosas/Humphrey around him. Doesn’t need to kick a bag, but does need to direct traffic, demand the ball when in position to do so, or play a decoy role and do his best to take Taylor out of the game and not just left him control the air. If he doesn’t, it’s only a matter of time until Walter does.

Not expecting much from the new defence that’s been thrown together. Collins has been in pretty good form though so hopefully that continues.

Also, would be nice if this game doesn’t just follow the script of most Giants game where it is over by half-time before a brave second half from us culminating in them kicking a few more nothing goals to end it.
