Jeka's drop in form is quite concerning. He's definitely not as impactful as Callow and Thorpe (who are playing well but not dominant).

Cunico, Porter and Parsons carrying a heavy load today.

Decent showings from Howe, Seamus, Saunders, Long. Seamus running into the play and navigating congestion was promising. Might be one of those players who elevate going back because they only have to look at what's in front of them.

Great to have Bramble back.

I only saw the second half which was pretty scrappy. The best you could say was at least the goal kicking improved and we outlasted them.

Even first quarter then BHH dominated from then on in. That was a flogging, except on the scoreboard.

DBR looks good. Great size and shape. His tap work is nice the rest of his game, not so flash. A heap to work with.

Jeka's efforts were poor all day. He can't win a possession. Shame as he has some tricks.

Saunders goes to bad spots or he spectates. Needs to get a better feel for the game or he wont be there next season.

Good game from Long. He was there early when the game was on, his kicking also looks more balanced.

“Gets to bad spots” yet had the most score involvements and rebounded from 50 a lot as a high forward. Not sure what game u watching, he gets burned a lot when he is out in space

Saw some bits and pieces. Seamus looked ok behind the ball. Definitely saw more of it. So we can add him to the glut of small backs we have?

I am convinced they need to try Jeka behind the ball now. Use his skills and get him some easy touches. He looks uncompetitive up forward.

The issues that he had prior to being drafted still exist. He lacks intensity at the contest and is so incosistent with his effort. He is behind the 8 ball at the moment. Needs a huge two months of football to turn it around.

Is it a confidence thing?

He only needs to look as far as the other key forwards on the list who are all ahead of him getting games in the senior team. Arguably he has more natural footy talent than all of them (probably not the game sense/footy IQ of Gunston though) but they all far exceed him in work rate and will continue to get games ahead of him based on that.

If it's not a fitness issue then it comes down to the mental drive to keep working. Will be bitterly disappointing if all that talent goes to waste because of laziness. He could be anything.

Wasn’t much of a game, despite perfect conditions.

Was Morris injured? Didn’t see him much.

Butler has something - needs to get fit (seems a long way behind Ward/McDonald - assume he had injury interrupted preseason)

We really need more from our 2019/20 draftee group. Morris, Jeka, downie, Seamus, Saunders all trending towards busts.

Jeka seems to lack competitiveness. History would show that’s almost impossible to teach.

Downie had COVID.

Unfortunately it looks that way - Downie might be a chance if he gets on the park

It can turn around quite quickly with confidence and a good run. Nash, CJ and Moore were all struggling. However they are certainly behind the 2021 crop. How lucky are we that in 2021 we added Bramble, Newcombe, Callow, Ward, Butler, McDonald, Serong and Long
