It appears Membrey will return via the VFL, which I think the Adelaide weather and ground conditions played a lot into that decision. That plus going forward we will still need a chop put ruckman and until Hayes returns he is probably the best option.

Cordy is not a strong mark, but he is good at bringing the ball to the ground which will benefit our smalls. I just hope he plays in front this week as he was too slow to react to the quick kicks forward last week.

Ross Lyon in press conferences keeps talking about a system, in other words, a game plan.
Thank god we now have a coach that utilises a game plan.
It’s been so long, and so frustrating
Personally I'm staggered the players managed to pick it up so quickly. I genuinely wondered if many of them hadn't missed the boat due to the last 10 years of nuffin.

Cordy has a grand final medallion.

He's doing his job for us and winning games.

Couldn't ask for more.

He's fine but he's hardly owning a spot. He'll be pushed out when our better forwards come back. Can't see him playing defence either. Caminiti will be easier to keep in the side IMO.

Premierships are good to have but they don't give you a spot in perpetuity.

But all their players are guns 🙄

They talk up their list as something that should be top 4.

I’m adamant (maybe blinkered. I ******* hate them) that it isn’t that good.

They have guns and then lots of s**t.

Their list is stacked, they are wasting them though. 2 star mids, 2 star forwards at least 2 top backs and plenty of good depth too. They will be alright IMO but glad to see them suffering.

They're so far unconvincing and still every chance of missing finals if they don't fire up. God it would be glorious..

All the moreso given they got ross to say yes, then renegged when their fatcat money men pulled rank and went with voss...
Haha- their list with ross' system would be dominant.

It warms my heart to see these big clubs like carlton and the bombers screw themselves over and over again because they are drunk on their own bathwater

Carlton dun goofed knocking back Ross for Voss, just imagine how much better they could be with their talent and his ability to get the best out of it.

It shouldn't be that surprising, Freo picked up his game plan pretty quickly, they played finals in his first year there and made a GF in his 2nd year.

It only took us longer in his first stint with us because he was still working out his game plan himself, he didn't really nail it down properly until 2009.

Yeah I think he will lose his spot when King and Membrey come back with Caminiti playing the 3rd tall forward role, well that's what I would go with.

Agree with everything other than the good depth.

I think depth is an issue for them and the fact they are paying big money to half a dozen players will make it hard to bring in more depth.

They need more out of that bottom 8 or so, but I think their biggest issue is their coach.

If they had a great coach they’d be able to turn those 8 or so bottom players to at least good role players.

How good is it that we’re not even talking about replacing caminiti with membrey. So good for us supporters and caminiti himself . The bloke was plucked out of the Carlton seconds for gods sake .
Might be a diff story with the king back in a few weeks though.

I don't think the play the same role. That has something to do with it.

Barry Breen's last 200 games were thx for that wobbly kick

I don't see Hammer getting pushed out if he keeps up what he's doing.
It may end up the case that King and Membrey returning makes us too top heavy, however by that time Hammer would be taking the 3rd best defender and his production should go right up.

"Maher believes Wednesday’s announcement of a coaching sub-committee and Lyon’s refusal to go through a process may signify a new era at the Blues.":D:D

“This does show to me that there is a board in place at the Carlton Football Club that is saying we are going to have a proper process here,” he told SEN's Bob and Andy.

It's always a good weekend when Carlton lose.

His production is pretty good now with him getting the best or 2nd best defender, exciting to think what his production could be on the 3rd best defender

I don't think it will be any problem keeping him in the team with King and Membrey as he provides a point of difference with his ability to provide defensive pressure with his tackling which is something neither King or Membrey are great at, he's kind of like a pressure small forward without the ball.

I don't expect too much from the kid as King and Members will draw much of the ball when they're back in the team, but like you said his general competitive traits should see him through.

Oh god I hope so

As will the Bombers before to long

Brad Scott is a decent appointment for them but he ain't no Ross the Boss and neither is Voss, unbelievable they overlooked him, lucky for us though.

Totally agree with this, I think a few on here have mentioned that he was a midfielder as a younger man who went through a quick growth spurt, which always bodes well for that defensive flexiblity (see M. Owens).

I would also add that one the pluses for Caminiti is his unique ability to give a solid marking option on the wing, and then turn and give quick delivery into the forward 50. He's done it a couple of times now where he's taken a mark, wheeled around, and then just pumped it in to a one on one. This has worked to pretty good effected so far, and I can only imagine that it'll only be more effective when that one on one target is either Max or Members.

This is also something that both Max and Membrey are not great at, Membrey in particular can be treacle slow sometimes, and it is a trait that means the Hammer can play more of a true CHF type role in the mould of say a Jeremy Cameron.

I really hope he stays in the team, and I hope it's on form.

I don't think there is any great penetration to Caminiti's field kicking - they tend to go up rather than out. He's definitely shown enough to persist with - good hands, good motor, good speed and a long kick. Plenty to work with.

They didn't overlook him wanted him to sit the interview
