Round 6: North Melbourne v Port Adelaide

I disagree. Most of your frees against were for high contact and infringing in the marking contest. That can happen when your defenders are undersized and your mids are second to the footy.

Spot on the money, but you wont get that through to them. They were ripped Daz ;) lol

Alan Richardson was clear in his summation of the afternoon for Port.

“We’re pleased we hung in there, but that would have been absolutely pinching the game,” he said.

“We got beaten fairly badly across the day in the really critical markers.

“The boys have clearly got a never say die attitude, their spirit to want to compete and run was impressive.

“Overall we got beaten - clearly got beaten.”

Well he can't really say "The umpires were ****ing shit house and probably cost us a shot a winning in the end" but I bet he would if he could.

I dont even know why im replying to this but jeez mate if you couldnt see that the second take was over the line then a trip to the optometrist should be the first thing on your agenda for monday morning.

you probably need to understand the way angles work in relation to where the camera was to see that one.

Holding the ball against Firrito when Wines held it in.
Are you blind? He pulled it in and held it there. He did it about 2-3 other times that I can remember. Sometimes someone else touched it first but all Firrito did was play for free kicks.

North did nothing today that the competition hasn't seen before. Loading up huge numbers down back. Boring, boring squib football. Basically an admission by Scott that our players are more talented than theirs. Fortunately for us, we are a young side and will hopefully learn from the experience today.

As for the 'herp your good players played shit and that's why you lost' arguement, amusing. North lost by a paltry 10 points. It should also be noted that a free kick = CP. Take that discrepancy into account and the numbers even up. Port's tacking wasn't any sloppier than North's across the board, but we didn't see it necessary to drive our head's into our opponents. Or just generally flinging the neck back (Thomas, McMahon, Swallow, Furrito).

I look forward to seeing North's 'mid-table mediocrity' journey continue. Well in lads.

Yep, he can say that there needs to be a investigation into match fixing in the AFL and the umpires had motive for North to win. We would never see him again

I could pull a lot of examples if I cared enough. I'm happy enough to blast firrito who is a campaigner and always will be, but outside that I don't really care.

I'm pissed off we lost, I'm pissed off about the umpires, and I'm pissed off that we were far too short down back and up forward. The day I'm content with a 10 point win, helped on by umpires, at a ground the other team has never played at, when they have two key players missing from their backline, one of their stars has 7 touches, and they are missing their head coach. Kill me.

I would be happy for one moment to beat the idiots who said they were in a different league to our club, but I would be filthy with the disgraceful performance North put in. Then again I'm fairly sure it wasn't all that bad by their standards.

Gray didnt throw hes head back at all today did he.

and despite all of that, if we weren't so convincingly obliterated by the umpiring, we still would have won the game. Why the hell do I need to site examples? At least 50% of North's frees weren't there.

If your auntie had balls she'd be your uncle.

wouldn't you be if your precious Roos only lost because of blatant umpiring disparity?

Not really mate, if your team aint good enough to win just learn to accept it. I have no problem in admitting we gotta some unwarranted frees today, port got a few too. But mate if we played 4 qtrs of footy we would have demolished your lot

I can recall one occasion...and he was having his head ripped back by the North player who was tackling him high. He was duly rewarded with the free kick IIRC.

Go back over the tape buddy there was more then one time. Yeah some of our players do it, but i can reel off a few names from Port today who "threw there head back" or ducked.

Wonder how far kochie might push this. The match has to be investigated. The umpires can never decide the victor in a match like they did today again.

Puddy, move on.

Ill move on when North admit that their win was tainted by an umpiring display that got them over the line in the end.

Both teams played poor, either team could have won, North drew the long straw when it came to bad umpiring decisions which helped them across the line. It wasnt skill that won it for them it was that they good end of the bargain when it came to the atrocious umpiring today.

Neither team should hold their heads high after today.

This game shows no improvement or decline in either team.

If your admitting your team played poorly why are you still solely blaming the umpires for the loss?.

If your admitting your team played poorly why are so still solely blaming the umpires for the loss?.

Im not blaming them for our loss? Im blaming them for ruining what would have been a tight even contest with some total bullshit calls.

Im saying both teams played poorly, and if it weren't for atrocious umpiring today which obviously helped North it would have made for a much better game that could have been won by either team.

It just annoys me to no end when your fellow North supporters cant admit that the calls today were total bullshit. If North were on the opposite end of a 38-15 free kick count you'd be mad too, and don't say you wouldn't.

A wins a win and you take the 4 anyway you can. Good luck to the Kangaroo's for the rest of H/A season.
