Griffen
B/E 100
2013 Vs Adel 53 & 78

Swan
B/E 78
2013 Vs Ess 108 & 127

Griffen got injured half way through the 53 game so that accounts for that score (ended up missing 3 or 4 weeks after that), in his 78 game, he copped a heavy Van Berlo tag from memory who wont be playing, although I can see Kerridge getting the job on him. Even if he scores a 130 he'll only go up around $15k so if the priority is to grab the last batch of viable rookies before the byes, then that should take precedence. If you're desperate for Swan, then this week is the week to get him in.

Personally I'll be going with Griffen for two reasons a. much better bye and b. not supercoach related but is a much better player who wins truckloads of his own ball under heavy pressure who I can actively cheer for and not feel dirty about doing it (unlike that seagull swan swine).

Forget about this week- like a dog, a premo isn't just for christmas.

Just pick whoever you think is going to give you the most points per dollar from now.

I'm not getting either of those guys, griffens too inconsistent and the doggies will lose more than they win... and swan looks disinterested since he signed a new contract... but that's just my personal preference, not to say they are bad options.
Probably go griffen if I had to.

This is my team now.
Simpson,Jaensch, Swallow, Guthrie, Lmac, Langdon Langford/Georgeou
Ablett,Pendles,Selwood,Griffen,Beams,Libba,Macrae,Polec Dunstan/Ellis
Sandilands, Jacobs Currie/King
Danger,Martin,Wingard,Hunter,Fasolo,Lloyd JKH,Impey

What I am trying to get by round 11/12
Simpson,Jaensch,Swallow, McVeigh, Hooker,Lmac Tippett/Fuller
Ablett,Pendles,Selwood,Griffen,Beams,SJ, Watson, Macrae O'Rourke /Morabito
Sandilands, Jacobs Currie/King
Danger,Martin,Wingard,Zorko, Fasolo, Motlop HoneyChurch/ZMerrett

This is just a plan but this is just a fantasy:rainbow:. Most of you guys would think im crazy:drunk:

Is it too late to come up with a bye strategy? I'm gonna look like a Krispy Kreme factory in Round 8.
If the damage is irreparable, then maximising your chances league of getting two league wins over the bye period, is what you should concentrate on. The best way to do this would be to exclusively add round 8 premiums, to your team, until round 9. This would set you up to lose your league matches in round 8, but win them in rounds 9 and 10.

Surely not. Unless you include bench players.

Nope, starting 6. She had Laidler's 95 in Rd 1 who was traded out shortly after
Rd 1 - 714
Rd 2 - 652
Rd 3 - 600
Rd 4 - 648
Rd 5 - 519 (still scored 2401 would have gone top 10 in weekly high score if they scored like prev weeks)
Average: 626.6

For those of you in my shoes who are wondering who future potential downgrade targets are (i've only made two downgrades so far), these up and comers could provide some value in the not to distant future:

Ben Lennon (Richmond, FWD) $162,300 - 28 possessions, 16 marks Vs Williamstown on the weekend

Mitch Honeychurch (Western Bulldogs, FWD/MID) $117,300 - Named in the best two weeks for Footscray VFL team, and has slotted 4 goals in his first three games

Ben Newton (Port Adelaide, MID) $123,900 - Pick 35 in the 2010 draft, injury riddled first two years, classy left footer who has been in terrific nick in the two's, racking up 33 disposals, 14 clearances and 2 goals

Christian Salem (Melbourne, MID) $177,300 - Last years pick 9, building some good form for Casey Scorpions, 23 touches and a goal on the weekend

Zach Merrett (Essendon, FWD) $117,300 - Was always going to be well managed, but his VFL form has been very solid, and will play around 10 games for the year

Who in the essendon side does Merret come in for if they're looking to drop anyone? Looked very decent in the preseason.

The frustrating thing will be that he will most likely play to replace chapman, winderlich and gleeson etc when they are rested, but if your looking for cash to do an upgrade later on. Also he is not overly big yet (73 kg, 178 cm), so he could get a bit of the vest.

Depends. How many Rd 8 bye players do you have ATM?

6 at the mo, though of course there's trades to be made to try to fill those gaps.

That's a good thought. I was getting excited about buying in Stevie J and/or downgrading to Lloyd at the Tiges, but it's all Round 8 stuff. Maybe I go with your suggestion and just double-down and expect to get annihilated in Round 8.

In your mids, or in your side total?

If that's all you got in your entire side, you're fine, you can bring in one or two more if you want with no worries.

Add Morabito to the list.

Hallahan (Haw) has played his 1st game v Geel, goes alright, JS an issue.

O'Rourke (GWS) is close, named emerg for last round.

Keep those mid spots open punters, might be best to upgrade in def & fwds first? o_O

238k in the bank. Obviously need to get Lloyd in, probably at the expense of Ellis. Which will leave me with close to 400k for my other trade.

The tough part is there is so many ways I can go, do I bring in a fallen premium like Griffen or Swan? or do I jump on a rookie (Robertson) and upgrade big in the coming weeks?

Tyson > Robertson
Dunstan > Robertson
Tyson > Griffen
Tyson > Swan
Dunstan > Griffen
Dunstan > Swan

All my mid pricers or rookies have low or negative B/E's (Fasolo, Higgins, JKH, Taylor, Crouch, Aish, Polec, Laidler, McDonald, Langdon, Langford), son don't want to be trading them out just yet.

My original plan was to bring in Robertson and Lloyd this week then Cloke and Griffen next week, but I'm struggling in my leagues with so much money in the kitty, so may have to bring in a prem but I dunno.

This week:
Ellis > Lloyd
Tyson > Robertson

Next week:
Dunstan > Swan
Aish > Griffen

Thoughts?

I'm watching this as my team structure and cash us very similar to yours and I'm asking the same questions !

I'm thinking of Ellis/Tyson > MMurphy/Lloyd for no net change in cash available .
