And that is why as a club we are as weak as piss, accept mediocrity.

No surprise that Lyon was our most successful recent coach, yes he had some talented players but he was ruthless.

Have no issue with Geary playing , but there can be no defence of Hill being selected and minimal argument that Ross should be in the side.
Couldn’t disagree more especially about hill.

Just take marsh spot at hf with time in the middle.
To me a HF is the most difficult to play. You're in no man's land running up and down between the 2 arcs and have to be disciplined to keep your width and not be dragged towards the ball.. It's opportunistic position and you need to have a good fitness base. It's not an ideal position for a debutant. But hey that's just my 2 cents

Means nothing. He would know he is or isn’t playing now.

It would at least show that his place in the starting side isn't an automatic lock and that he was a chance to be dropped.

Well now that Ross and Hill are still in the side let's hope that they respond with good performances, although being against Adelaide it may not mean that much.

Very disappointing Ratts, i expected better. The highly paid boys club aka leaders of the club won't be touched and we are looking at the easy scapegoats it would seem IF they even play the ins.

Only St Kilda.
So other clubs drop there highly paid boys? Really

Well I doubt he goes straight in the middle

I always think this stuff is amazing. They do speak.

Im guessing it will be

Out: Long and Marsh
In: Ryder and Byrnes.

Gears to go back for Long and we rotate the mids throughs the fwd line more.

Ross was never being dropped this week. Lethlean said as much on AFL360 on Tuesday night. Not sure why anyone is surprised by this. He's got enough credits in the bank to deserve a chance to respond to his poor performance last week.

The finalized team is released tomorrow at 5. I was hoping they’d list the dropped players from tonight to make a point of not rewarding poor performance, but there’s still a chance for the team to take a stance on the guys like Ross who are meant to be leaders.

Pretty sure the coaches would have had a strong word with them without having to make a public statement by putting them on interchange to please the likes of us.

Not really the week to drop our older/better players.

Dropped a game we shouldn’t of last week.

Versing bottom of the year, we can’t really afford to take a chance this week by playing a bunch of younger guys.

I’m sure the Ross/Hill types have been given a rocket this week and if they fail again, I doubt they’ll be safe next week.

This isn’t really the week to make a statement because dropping those guys and then losing to Adelaide will be horrific for the club PR wise.

And if you haven’t noticed, the club is all about generating positive PR recently, especially this year.

It’s really not about the flag this year. It’s about showing promise, attracting more sponsors, getting more good players nominating us and getting more prime time games.

No you are right he has been outstanding just going to place money on him for the Brownlow.

You are Judging Hill on reputation and past performance not current out put which has been beyond disappointing.

Hill has the game to be in the top few in our best and fairest yet would not be in top half of the team currently and quite frankly his attack on the ball and the man has been woeful.
You are an astute follower of the club so generally interested in why you think he should have maintained his position.

I really hope he is best on ground and starts playing to his ability.

Back in the day did you think that Dal Santo and Milne should have been dropped ?

So because I want him to play I think he has been outstanding. I’m possible to have a serious conversation if that’s your starting point Good players from other clubs get more of a chance than others. And he has been ordinary but not pathetic

Exactly. We're talking about Australian Rules Football at the highest level. This isn't the same scenario at your local footy club after Thursday night training where you're sitting in the club rooms eating a hot dog and smashing down a beer waiting to see if you're playing in the 1's or magoos.
