Is my season over if im ranked 23k? At least for winning the 50k?
No, too early for that.
If you're still there after round 4 then yes

Last years winner was 22035 in Rd1. Then moved his way to 5163, 73, 54, 46 and reached rank 1 at the end of Rd6.

After the first 3-4 rounds you will want to be top 200ish to give it a good shake.

Having good bye rounds would help yeah?

I went from 14k in round 1 to 33rd overall by round 5/6 last year. Plenty of ground to make early, and there's the byes where people really make huge moves.

2227 with Danger and R.Gray to come back in. Regret just ever so slightly picking them both given they were out, but hopefully make up some points this week.

How does Cox get off that hit? Astounding

He didn't....

Him and Mitch Robinson both got a week with Douglas i reckon most know about already!

Maynard also got fined 1k for staging.

Pretty amazing weekend for me. Firstly, my wife gave birth to our second son yesterday afternoon.

As far as SC goes I finished with 2429. Managed to miss any of the Z carnage and pick the majority of the right rookies to start on field.

My defenders in Laird, Shaw and Sicily (aka :moustache:) shat it in with Murray, Fin & Doedee.

All my mids performed except Fyfe & Brayshaw.

Gawnstein solid in rucks.

Billings owes me $432.00 so I can pay a fine for lewd behaviour in a public space. The rest of the forwards were solid.

Oh and to top it off the Hawks got up, Titch breaks some records and Bucks made me laugh.
Congratulations on the arrival of your baby boy!

Final Starting Side:

Ones who just missed out: Hibberd, Parker, Lycett, Cripps.

Ones who were under consideration: Yeo, Hurley, Coniglio, Redden, Cox, Curnow, Heeney, Walters.

Score: 2183
Weekly Rank: 38686
Overall Rank: 38686
Heroes: Laird, Sicily, Doedee, Finlayson, Martin, Mitchell, Holman, Kelly (B), Gawn, Naitanui, English (B), Billings
Villains: Zorko
Trades Planned: None.

Defence: 7.5/10.

Perfect placement by me with the defenders I selected. Laird and Sicily were excellent (and I have Dangerfield's absence to thank for picking Laird over Hibberd, because I knew that Hibberd would be my next defender picked, and I could pick him if I wanted to sacrifice Dangerfield, but I could not do it the opposite way if I didn't pick Laird in the beginning). Fielding three rookies with scores of 70+ mitigated the risks of starting a shallower defence line. McGovern was serviceable.

Midfield: 5.5/10

Oh Zorko, Zorko, why hast thou forsaken me? After rearranging my side to have a 6 man premium midfield (Dangerfield, Martin, Mitchell, Kelly, Zorko and Fyfe over Martin, Kelly, Zorko, Fyfe and Parker/Cripps), I needed them to fire to support my Guns and Rookies build. Martin and Mitchell fired well. Kelly was good, Fyfe was poor - but I have no idea what on earth happened to Zorko, who was my first picked player this season. Very disappointing. Time will tell if starting Dangerfield was the right choice - but after Zac Merrett scored 19, I figured that I'd want to bring him in, and I didn't want to have to try and scramble to get Dangerfield at the same time.

Holman was good on field, and taking the safe route of Martin (C) + Banfield ended up being the less rewarding choice than gambling on playing Tim Kelly and putting the C on Josh Kelly would have been. Rookies are always a lottery and it was just my bad luck to have Tim Kelly on the bench this week.

Rucks: 10/10.

Scores aren't the typical ones for a 10/10, but for the context of the situation, I think this line deserves it. English was a very late substitution for Lycett at R3, which worked out superbly, but even better was the performance from Nic Naitanui in limited game time. The Gawnanui lineup was not exactly radical thinking, but the fact it worked out so well, even for one week, is a massive boon.

Forwards: 6/10.

The three premiums did their jobs. I knew that the forward rookies would bring short term pain but I got the West Coast rookie selection right, and hopefully there will be a spike score here and there to allow quick upgrades. Heeney looked like he would scorch me for missing out on him but it wasn't too bad in the end.

---

I was off of Dangerfield for most of March, but his injury, paradoxically, made me more likely to want to pick him. I cleaned out a lot of the 'speculative picks' like Lobb at F5, to make room for more rookies. Hopefully it pays dividends sometime in the future, and hopefully Zorko redeems himself next week.

I will be keeping an eye on Rookies and Bonner and will switch accordingly before Round 3, but for now, I will sit tight, and trust my decisions.

Definitely not. I was ranked 44k after round 1 last year. Reached as high as 46 before finishing 198.

Fantastic weekend all around.

If I stuck with that team instead of changing last minute, I would have scored 65 MORE points this week and had $86,100 MORE in the bank

previous: Lloyd + Kelly + Greene
vs
current: Bonner + Treloar + Lobb
Did something similar last year with Heater and a shit truck rook.
We all know how that ended for Heater owners.
This year I brought Lobb in for Chewy and Crouch for Oliver last minute.
Oliver apparently injured so Im hoping that was a wise move.
With Lobb. The difference being this time is that I had Lobb in 80% of my early drafts.
6 weeks in full training was just too good to pass up.
