The weather might turn out OK for a running battle (thanks to Giant YoYo for the observation):
Weather is looking much better than it was in previous forecasts.

The rain from the west looks to be delayed and depending on how delayed it is may mean we won't get the rain/rain periods till much later or this evening.

Biggest risk is isolated/scattered showers coming onshore off the coast which may or may not hit during the game. These generally won't be long lasting unless we're really unlucky.

If it does rain, it will turn into a closer slog, with whichever side adapts best to wet weather footy likely to prevail.

A loss leaves us vulnerable to being caught by the chasing pack of teams, a win opens a little gap and establishes our credentials as a serious flag contender. So, let's go out there boys and win this!

Great point about a loss. There is a pack of good teams this year and almost anyone can cause an upset. I believe it’s only maybe North now that can’t

A win against another top 4 container is super important

Go giants !!

Harvey is unlucky to be named as the sub, but so would any of the other options (Darcy Jones, James Peatling or Jake Riccardi).

What we do lose is his tackling in F50, so hopefully the remainder can lift to make up for that. And Jones rewards us with a swag of goals.

Anyone at the ground who can provide a summary of the current weather and short term prognosis?

Yah Harvey definitely stiff. But I guess he’s young and pretty light, it’s not the worst to effectively give him a rest and then try to provide a spark in limited minutes.

The half-back line needs to sharpen up.

Kicks going straight to opponents, risky handpasses...

Whitfield again not starting the game well, like last week.
I don’t buy his stats or efficiency. Easy to be efficient when a lot of disposals are from the kick outs. He’s making poor decisions.

Great start Cadman.
