Lewis and Dixon and knockout Cam are all Dunstall minions. Almost like a workplace clique, where you have to hate Collingwood to appease the fox footy figureheads and top brass.
Ive worked there.
My objective feedback to management was that their commentators just alienate the biggest supporter base in the land. Not smart at all. Their response:.. “f*ck em… it’s Collingwood”
I actually agree with management on that one. Collingwood get what 4-5 Foxtel exclusive matches a year and not one person is choosing not to tune into them because of the commentators. I’ve seen it from Mooney and obviously Dunstall, but Dixon is a surprise he was in our corner last night and I generally find his views inoffensive (a bit like Howard). I feel for you because that would have been frustrating, but from a professional sense I get it.

The one I rate the most is Jenkins. He was coaching back in 2022 and it seemed pretty clear in 2022-23 that the Geelong group respected what we were doing based on how he would break down what we were doing.

Commentators have two jobs imo. And one of them is to remain impartial. But our sport is one of the worst in the world for commentary bias / conflicts of interest. Where else do you see presidents and board members commentating their own team’s games…. Pretty fkd up. That inner AFL circle doesn’t give a flying though… they want the cash and relevance, and to put their stamp on the game, then go back and high five their club mates.

That Elliott one should have been play on because he got Cerra high
nope. Watch it again, the only reason Elliot makes high contact is because Cerra smacked him in the face first which caused his head to go back and his arms to drop and make contact.

It should 100% have been a free to Jamie, and Cerra knew it, even he was surprised when the free was given to him.

In my life time Carlton just continue to be the joker, the team easily mocked, a loser club. We are winners and far superior in every way and once again have proven it tonight
Yep for the faithful in their early 20s, Carlton have never been more than a laughing stock aside from a couple years break from the two expansion sides + Essenbum 2016

Just reading the Carlton board for research purposes and holy s**t

They live on another planet lol

“Bottom 4 list”

“Carried by umps”

“Can’t win without the umps”

That’s rich from supporters of a side with a list that drops off a cliff after the top 6-8 that literally relies on favourable umpire treatment to get over the line

They even needed the rub of the green to control North lol
I despise that scum of a club with all my being

So it wasn’t just me that noticed this.
Pittonet scragged and tackled our rucks off the ball all night. I thought the umpires were good in not paying stupid ruck infringements.

A few other decisions were baffling, but overall I thought it was relatively well umpired. We got the rub a few times, as did they. They didn’t influence the result thankfully.

It's hard to agree with their assessment of HH:

"...
Harvey Harrison: C

Rotated at half-forward and kicked a goal but didn’t have a say on the contest.
..."

Darcy Moore was an "A" if only for his 4th quarter efforts.

OTOH, I do see the writing on the wall for Sidebum and so do they "C-".

I'm not tempted to spend much time analysing individual performances. The team result is more important here, hunting in packs and the pressure being off the charts. The collective work rate enabled the win.

And Nick. F*. Daicos.

N.B: Owies (and Popley) are gifted with the most punchable heads in the AFL.

Didn’t Kouta grow up a pies fan too?

Both were fanatical Collingwood supporters and Daicos was their idol

They used to go to the footy with my cousin’s ex. He used to tell us everything about them lol

Yeah it's to be taken with a grain of salt but always nice to have some reading material after a good win. Had just watched the highlights in which HH featured prominently in the dying minutes and helped save then win us the game. He looks a player.

Freak. I was hoping for a point… but Nicky D had other ideas. As cool as a Macedonian cucumber.. 💥💥

A point would have been way worse

You give them possession and a goal can win it for them

A goal means a draw is worst case and going back to the middle means we can still get hands on it or kill the ball

Except when you want to stay in bed and the magpies are on your balcony in the early morning mist warbling for food you haven't yet taken out of the freezer.
I have a cousin that moved to Europe about 10 years ago, he’s back for a visit atm, I asked him what he missed besides friends and family, he said the sounds of the magpies. He said he never paid much attention to them living here but not hearing them in the morning is still strange to him now. It’s funny what reminds you of home sometimes.
