Also, we are going to really miss Johnson this week.
if his hands weren't complete butter at times he would've been one of our best on, really wish he had the chance to build on it again this week. better be straight back in
Finally watched the game, I have respect for those that stand up for the little guy but * me dead, there is no way someone could look me in the eye and with straight face say Banfield should stay in. The games where he is a minor net positive can not outweigh games like that and Sturt getting subbed for him at that point in the game was just nuts.
yeah not particularly fussed who would come in to play that role, but as of right now he's a forward that's not kicking goals and not tackling/being particularly useful defensively. what are we doing here

Cox looked sore to me.
I agree with you I expect Sturt will be dropped and Banfield will stay in.
I've tried my best to be as nice as possible with Banfield comments this year but if he the coaches are ok with what he's giving then there really is no hope.

It was pretty much all marks as well right? Was weird the ones he dropped but man when he has the ball in hand, good things happen pretty much every time. He is going to be what we wanted Cerra to be and more given I think he's better at the contested stuff

from memory yeah. got in some really good spots with those as well (was one 70m out from goal complete middle of the ground, not many others you'd want in that spot over him)

I cant remember if it was known on here that Mundy thinks Johnson and Erasmus are going to be better than Brayshaw and Serong and Amiss is the most talented kid he's ever seen. Might be a bit of hyperbole but I think that tells you what the club thinks of those three

That would be... outrageous and delicious.

Amiss I can see, the other two I think have bright futures but Caleb and Andy are handy TSTL.

I mean, if he's right we'd have 4 Brownlow-level mids running around for us (at the feet of dominant rucks) with a Coleman medalist up front. I doubt it pans out that well but it's nice to think about in these dark times.

imagine the salary they'd be on though

I'm not sure whether to be excited or depressed that Johnson is just about our classiest player already.
why not both? excited when the team/MJ is doing well, depressed when we lose

Watching that replay was both bizarre and exciting when the 19 year old kid gets the ball and makes everyone look ridiculous for looking so panicked

Out: Johnson (sus), Banfield, Hughes
In: Wilson, Fredrick, Fyfe

While I would like to see Treacy given a fair go at AFL level it's apparently going to be wet on Saturday so going in small is just smarter.

B: Jordan Clark - Alex Pearce - Brandon Walker
HB: Luke Ryan - Brennan Cox - Hayden Young

C: James Aish - Neil Erasmus - Nathan O'Driscoll
Fol: Sean Darcy - Caleb Serong - Andy Brayshaw

HF: Michael Fredrick - Jye Amiss - Lachie Schultz
F: Michael Walters - Luke Jackson - Sam Sturt

Int: Jaeger O'Meara - Will Brodie - Sam Switkowski - Nathan Wilson
Emg: Nat Fyfe

While I'm ranting, if Cox plays like that again he can be shipped off to Adelaide for free for all I care. Also, we are going to really miss Johnson this week.

If I could choose
Out: Banfield, Johnson, Hughes
In: Treacy, Erasmus, Freddy Fyfe to sub

Knowing JL
Out: Sturt, Johnson
In: Fyfe, Freddy
Unpopular upinion, but Johnson isn't there yet.. don't think we will miss him for what he contributed last game (or the mistakes)

Hopefully Erasmus replaces him and makes a better contribution.

I've got high hopes for both, hope they can be given games for the rest of this year since the season is a write off already.

I don’t know, there were a couple of drop marks but also a couple of goals we kicked that were a result of things he did that no one in our team can do.

If Erasmus plays better than Johnson did on the weekend I’ll be happy with whatever the seasons throws up because I’ll be convinced we have a ridiculous midfield going forward

Johnson was awesome last week excluding his 3 dropped marks

If Erasmus plays that well I'll be ****ing stoked
