Hughes had 4 turnovers.
He also had one touch forward of halfway, and even that was only just.
A winger who did not touch the ball within 40m of the attacking forward 50?
That just won’t do.

People keep going on about how quick he is. Very rarely uses it. Doesn't run hard. Isn't tackling or chasing when playing on the wing. About the only thing he does well occasionally is kick to advantage better than most of the other players.
Thought he was ok in the backline but he is a waste of time on the wing. We need to rotate some of our top line players through one wing instead of leaving good quality young guys out of the team.

Im excited to watch Ras go at it for a full game tbh, just fights for everything and won’t die trying

16 not enough from a winger , Should be getting it much more like that new wingman that Carlton picked up this year:rolleyes:

Clark has to go to the wing, defensively he is becoming a liability along with the fact he plays such an uncontested game.

If he can offer run that's fine. It would be more likely that they will play either Sturt or Corbett (annoyingly) or sub out Sturt for Corbett.
Nah Corbett can definitely replace Banners and keep Sturt in.

Looking at the heat map he did spend time on the wing It appears he just stood in one spot.
Yeah but it was probably a split of like 70/30 defence wing. Remember we dropped wagner with no replacement, so we were a defender down in theory.

That 30 % needs to go to someone like Bradshaw or Switta maybe Johnson , Young, Chappy so we have room in the team for both Johnson and Erasmus. And it may allow us to improve our inside mid rotations. We can't leave our inside mids the way they are.

Banfield > Corbett
Hughes > Worner
Schultz > Emmett

Draper/Fyfe/Treacy as sub.

I'm a fan of Worner's but I don't think he's ready and we really need to win this one. Worner needs to improve his contested work and his disposal is too inconsistent ATM.

I also don't think Schultz should be dropped after just one poor game. The others I like. If Banfield gets dropped, he'll be sub you can count on it.

Guys have come into the team who have done less than Worner. Hes been putting up numbers in the WAFL since last year. I know his disposal isn't great but I don't get why we don't just trial him on the wing. He's got experience there. Maybe not this week but we've got some unwinnable games coming up for him to have a go.

He's had more than one poor game.

And I get that his form may just be a symptom of the rest of the side. Just may be time for a different look.
